Walking Clifford

Nathan loves dogs...any dogs! His favorite stuffed animal is Doggie that he sleeps with, and one of his favorite movies is Lady and the Tramp ("The Doggie Movie" as he calls it). He especially loves Mama and Papa's dog, Cookie, and Auntie Carrie's dog, Otis. That's where his love of dogs started. Whenever we're with Cookie or Otis, Nathan wants to help feed them, brush them, and he especially likes to take them on walks. Since we don't have a real dog, Nathan pretends with his stuffed dogs. The other day, I found Nathan trying to put a belt around Clifford and saying "Walk Doggie" at the same time. I realized he wanted to make a leash for his dog. So I made him one out of string, and this is his new favorite past time!

Clifford is very well taken care of...he gets to watch cartoons with Nathan, is fed cereal and juice (which gets messy, but Nathan doesn't understand that Clifford can't eat or drink), is taken on walks, and gets loved on constantly! What's really funny is that if Clifford turns over while Nathan is taking him for a walk, Nathan stops and puts him right side up again!
