Our big summer vacation was spent in one of our favorite cities, San Francisco! Oh my gosh, the weather was perfect! High wass 70! There was always a cool breeze which was great for us and all of the walking we did. At night, it did get chillier, but as long as you had a light jacket, you were good! We walked all over the city and loved taking the trolley cars and hanging out. Nathan and Daddy were the brave ones! We walked so much that we didn't feel guilty eating as much good food as we did! One day, we biked 8.5 miles to the Golden Gate Bridge and across to the cute town of Sausalito. Another day, we walked to Haight Ashbury and made our way to the beach. The water was cold, but Nathan and Charlotte didn’t care at all! Along the way, we saw the painted ladies houses, walked through Golden Gate Park, and had fun picking out the houses we would love to live in. The next day we rented a car, drove to Sausalito and then took a shuttle to Muir Woods. We loved exploring the forest! After Muir Woods, we drove to Sonoma and toured a winery. The kids had fun in the hedge maze while mommy and daddy sipped some wine. On our last day, we walked some gigantic hills to Coit Tower and then to China Town. We went to dinner in China Town two days before but Nathan and Charlotte wanted to spend more time there and at Pier 39. Their favorite part was seeing how fortune cookies are made and getting their own bags 🙂 They did lots of souvenir shopping here and we ate the best sushi! Then we walked back to pier 39 where we spent the rest of the evening. We loved seeing the sea lions! Normally there are hundreds there but this is the time they migrate to have their babies. A few stay but the majority come back in August. We had a wonderful seafood dinner: clam chowder, crab cakes, jumbo shrimp, and Nathan tried crab legs for the first time! And then a crepe for dessert. We had such an amazing time! I love that Nathan and Charlotte are such great travelers and love to walk and explore! We averaged 18,000 steps per day!!😉 ☺️
