Halloween is a favorite time for the Parnell kids. Mommy was a little stressed this October because I was still getting used to teaching Kindergarten plus we were in the middle of beginning our home re-decorating process. I thought about just not doing the Halloween decorations, but I should realize by now, that skipping is not an option! Every year I suggest skipping and every year they look at me like I'm crazy. So this year, I just got everything out and told them to do what they wanted. They did a great job!!! One fun activity we did was go to Drew's house to carve pumpkins. The boys and Charlotte had fun hanging out together and designing their pumpkins. After we finished the pumpkins, we went to Studio Movie Grill to see Maleficent. Everything was going great at the movies. We had our food/drinks, just enjoying it. And then the fire alarm went off and the intercom said for us to evacuate immediately. It was a little freaky because at that time, there had been several movie theater shootings. So we got the heck out of there and went home. We didn't even stick around to see what the deal was. It turns out there was a small grease fire in the kitchen that they put out but the alarms still went off. For Halloween, Charlotte was a Zombie Cheerleader and boy did she get into character. It was so fun to do her makeup! Nathan was very picky about his costume. He didn't want to look too kid like. He wanted a cool/scary mask to wear with his black jumpsuit. This was the first year that we split up. Nathan went to Jack's neighborhood with Drew, Aidan, and Gavin and trick or treated there. Then Gavin's dad took them to Chipotle for half price burritos if wearing a costume. Charlotte stayed here and we met up with Jesalynn and Sara. The girls were so cute together. Everyone was so happy to be with their friends.
