All the girls spent the night at Addy's house the day before the last day. This has been a tradition for years!!! This year was especially exciting and sad because it was the end of middle school and the beginning of high school. The day was just a party for the kids. It was also my last day of school which is filled with so many end of the year teacher things to do. For 8th graders, parents are allowed to come to the school as the 8th graders parade through the halls and then they can leave. I told Charlotte I wouldn't be able to come because even though my kids got out early for a 1/2 day, I had to spend the rest of the day as a work day. She said it was fine and she understood. But then I started to feel guilty about missing, knowing that all the other moms would be there. So I just said screw it, I'm going! But I had to leave right then to get there on time. I ran out of the building so fast and texted my principal that I was going to miss our meeting because I was going to Arbor Creek but that I would be back to finish packing up my room. When I got to the parking lot, I realized I didn't have my car because Wayne took it to get the tires checked. So, I RAN home so fast, got his keys and truck and then raced to the school praying I wasn't going to be late. Parking at the school was a nightmare, but luckily I found a spot...it was on the side street of the school by the stop sign, not really a legal place to park, but I did it anyway. On the way there, I texted Charlotte that I was coming. I didn't want her to not expect me and then not look for me. When she got my message, she said YOU ARE?!?! She was so happy, and I knew I made the right decision. Even if I had to stay longer to get my room done, it was going to be worth it! I got there in plenty of time to see everything. All of her friends' moms were there, so I was so happy I was there too. It was really special, especially seeing her give the office ladies a hug. She worked in the office that year and really loved them. They said that they loved her too.
