Grandmother's House

Charlotte and Nathan love going to Grandmother's house! She always has lots of yummy treats and snacks for them. A couple of weeks ago, they stayed with Grandmother for the day while I ran errands and met Wayne for lunch. The weather was beautiful! It was a warm, sunny day so Nathan and Charlotte did lots outside. They helped Grandmother pull weeds and plant flowers, ride their bikes in her circle, went on a golf cart ride and picnic, and played hopscotch!

When we pulled up that morning, Helen was waiting for us outside in her chair. Nathan and Charlotte jumped out and each wanted their little chairs. Nathan got a Capri Sun for the two of them, and they looked so cute together!

Jake's House

Last weekend our neighbors, the Gierkeys, invited us over for dinner and to watch basketball. Jake and Nathan have been friends for over 2 years now and they love being together! Every week they take turns going to each other's houses. Skylar, Jake's sister, is about 9 months younger than Charlotte but is getting to the age that she can really play with Charlotte. They both love their babies! And Skylar loves Nathan! She gets so excited when she sees him, and Nathan is always so sweet to her. He likes to feel like the older one taking care of the younger one. Plus, Skylar doesn't argue with him like his little sister sometimes does 😊

The boys made their own pizzas and played video games, the girls played babies and had fun in the playroom, the daddies watched basketball, and the mommies got to visit! Fun night!

Zoo Playdate

On Friday, we met some friends at the Dallas Zoo. On the way to the zoo, I let Nathan bring the IPad in the car. Nathan kept asking if we were there yet and said he wasn't feeling good. I thought he was just tired of riding in the car. It's a good 30 minute drive, so I figured he was just getting antsy. As we got into downtown, Nathan said he felt like he was going to throw up. Right then, he started to throw up. I quickly yelled, "Not on the IPad!" So he held it in just long enough to close it and throw it on the floor before he vomited all over himself. Poor little boy! I took the first exit to pull over and find a place to stop and clean him up. Then I realized we were in downtown Dallas and not the safest area to just pull over and stop. So I had to make him wait until we got to the zoo. Luckily, I had extra clothes for both Nathan and Charlotte because there is a water area at the zoo that I knew they would want to play in. Thank goodness for the extra clothes! Nathan said he felt so much better and still wanted to go to the zoo. I figured he just got carsick from playing on the IPad in the car. So we changed clothes and went on into the zoo. Everyone had so much fun! We met Lauren, Trevor, Connor, Ryan, and Suzy there. It was a great day!

So, what I thought was just Nathan being carsick was not the case. He threw up again that night on Daddy's leather chair, and again in our bed. On Saturday, he threw up on my couch and again in our bed that night. Wayne and I went to a St. Patrick's day party with some friends while Nathan and Charlotte stayed at Grandmother's house. Grandmother said he just laid on his pallet and slept most of the time. Today is Sunday, and although he hasn't thrown up today, all he has wanted to do is lay on the couch and sleep. I think he's only had about 3 crackers. He's been drinking water and Powerade some, so at least he's staying hydrated, but I'm taking him to the doctor first thing in the morning. I almost thought he might have the flu, but he hasn't had a high fever...it's been around 99.5. Today it's back to normal though. I think he just has a virus in which case, it just has to run it's course. It makes me so sad to see him sick like this because he never gets sick! Charlotte looks like a wild child compared to him right now!

Arboretum

This week is Spring Break. We've had so much fun staying in town and doing things with our friends and just hanging out. On Wednesday, we went with Mama out to breakfast at IHOP and then to the Arboretum. Mama and I were starving and ate every bit of our breakfast. Of course, Nathan and Charlotte just picked at their food...I wish I had an appetite like theirs! When we got to the Arboretum,  the day was so beautiful! The flowers looked so pretty and Nathan and Charlotte had so much fun running around! And although they weren't hungry for pancakes and eggs, they sure had an appetite for all of the yummy treats Mama packed for us.

The water area at the end of our day was their favorite part. They got soaked and loved every minute of it!

Toni and Guy Haircut

A couple of weeks ago, we met Mama at Toni and Guy hair salon where she gets her hair cut. Mama treated Charlotte to a beauty day! I've had Charlotte's hair trimmed several times before, but this was the real deal! She was so excited to get her hair done and was a big girl. Ahn (mom's hairdresser) was so sweet to Charlotte. He washed her hair...Charlotte thought it was so funny that she got her hair washed in a sink! And then he cut two inches off and gave her some long layers. Charlotte was really good during the hair wash, but didn't want to sit in the chair to get her hair cut by herself. So Mommy had to sit with her. Nathan was our photographer and did a great job documenting this event! I LOVED her hair afterwards! When Ahn dried it, it looked so cute! As a treat, we went to The Purple Cow for milkshakes, burgers, and fries.

These next few pictures are from two days after her haircut. I didn't wash it the next day, and it still looked so cute! And the picture of her in her pink sweater is from when I washed her hair, but let it dry on its own, still very cute!
