Our Austin Weekend

We went to Austin this weekend to visit Aunt Carrie and Uncle Chris. Carrie needed a Nate fix, and spoiled him rotten! Actually, I was spoiled too because she got up with him both mornings...and once in the middle of the night thanks to teething. I accidentally "forgot" to mention that he's been doing this :) But she was a trooper! What's so great about Carrie is that she actually ENJOYED getting up with Nathan.

Carrie and Chris, being the wonderful aunt and uncle they are, welcomed Nathan with lots of fun toys! Can't you tell how excited he was? He got a seahorse stuffed animal, a new plate, big boy food, and a bubble gun which Nathan LOVED!

"Why can't I eat my chicken dinner now?"

"See Mommy, it came with its own plate...so now can I try my chicken dinner...and then maybe my oatmeal and peaches for dessert?"

"I've always wanted a glowing seahorse! And it plays lullabies too!"

After Nathan went to bed, we stayed up for a few games on the Wii. Here is Wayne trying to show off his computer game abilities. The last time he played Wii, he ended up ripping his shirt! I found out that I am a natural at bowling :)

"Otis, my bottom teeth are coming in, and I sure hope they aren't crooked like yours."

"Mommy, Otis is sharing his bone with me!"

"Oh my Otis, is it time for your nap too?"

It was so funny to watch Nate with Otis. He was very interested in every little move Otis made, and he especially loved it when Otis would shake his fur. We always got a laugh out of Nathan. Otis was very sweet to him too.

Saturday morning, while Wayne and Chris hung out, Carrie and I took Nathan to the park.

Nathan loves to swing and cried when we took him out!

What a sweet boy!

"Hmmmm, when I get home, do I want my chicken dinner first or my peaches?"

"Mommy don't be mad, Auntie Carrie said it was OK for me to play with her cup and spatula, I promise."

Saturday night, Nathan finally got to eat his food on his new plate and as you can see, he couldn't wait to dig in.

"I love visiting you Auntie Carrie."

Nathan News

Nathan and I met some friends at the park today for some outside fun. It was a beautiful day although VERY windy! Nathan's hat blew off several times and when we were leaving, the stroller (without Nathan in it) took a ride of its own!

"Mommy, I love to swing! Go higher!"

Nathan and Jack sharing a swing.
"Jack, I'm feeling kind of silly like this. Whose idea was this anyway?"
"I am way too cool to be 'buddy swinging' with a 7 month old."

"Can you at least give me a little more room Jack? My thighs are a little bigger than yours!"

"That's better...hey this is fun! Are you having fun Jack?"
"What do you think?"

Here are some pictures of Nate in an outfit that Aunt Jennifer made for him. Isn't it cute? Here he is chillin' in the chair :)

"Ooooh, Mommy's watching soap operas again when she could be doing laundry or cleaning the house!"

"I kinda like Days of Our Lives. Don't worry, I won't tell Daddy."

"Thanks Aunt Jen for making me a cutie pie!"

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Nathan! When Nathan woke up this morning, he had a basket filled with goodies. I got him a new shirt and put the eggs that he (I) dyed in his basket. But his daddy didn't think that was enough so he went to the store in the morning and came home with even more goodies! Wayne bought him two stuffed animals, bath toys, and a chocolate bunny. Of course, we had to eat the bunny for Nathan, but that's what parents are for right?

"Daddy, you're the best to get me TWO stuffed animals!"

"That's a pretty good dye job Mommy."

"How many more pictures do we have to take?"

I tried this outfit on Nathan two weeks ago, and it fit him perfectly. But this morning when I was getting him dressed, it was almost too small! I can't believe how much our little boy is growing!

Mommy and her two handsome boys!

I love it when Nathan lays his little head down on me. Now when I hold him, he uses his back hand to play with my hair. He is the absolute sweetest baby ever! How did we get so lucky?

Hunting Easter Eggs

Nathan was invited to hunt Easter Eggs with some of his little friends Saturday afternoon. Luckily the weather was beautiful. Nathan really loved playing with the plastic eggs. Marla filled them with kid friendly snacks and stickers. We found a few eggs for his basket but by the end of the night, all of his eggs had been opened and the inside contents taken out! I think the other little girls figured out that Nathan was an easy target when it came to swiping his eggs! All of the little kids were so cute together!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Today was Nathan's first time to color Easter eggs! Well, actually I colored the eggs and Nathan just watched. He was very happy and cheered me on! We went over to Lisa's house along with Jennifer and Jack and Katie, Grace, and Jack #2. After we colored the eggs, the kids played outside in the yard and in a sandbox...which Nathan loved. We then had a wonderful lunch and the day ended with Nathan falling asleep and taking the longest nap when we got home.

It was fun for Nathan to sit there and watch us do all of the work!

"What if I pulled a little harder on this table cloth?!"

Jennifer gave Nathan a plastic egg to play with which became his new best friend.

Here's a group shot.

Nathan and Jack in the grass. Nathan really loves being outside. He kept rubbing his legs on the grass and pulling it with his hands.

"Jack, Where are you going? Stay here with me."

"That's better."

After we played in the grass, we moved to the sand box. At first I wasn't going to let Nathan get in it because I thought he'd get it in his mouth or eyes, but he kept looking at it and kicking his feet like he really wanted to try it, so I gave in :)

Boy, did he love it!

Nathan kept wiggling his legs to dig them deeper in the sand, and he would get fist fulls of sand and then watch it drop.

Here are all the boys! Ethan was so sweet to let us play with all of his fun toys.

"I'm ready for the beach!"

"Mommy and Daddy will you please get me one of these for my birthday???"
