Jack and Nate

Nathan and I spent the day with Jennifer and Jack yesterday. We ate lunch and played and, of course, we had to do another photo shoot. The boys are so fun together! Jennifer made them cute little matching onesies so we just couldn't help ourselves!

"Oh no, not again!"

"Jack, why do we have to take more pictures?"

"It's ok Nathan, I bet they will just take one...or maybe fifteen more pictures."

"But all I want to do is drink some milk."

"I know little buddy, I know. Just hang in there."

"Jack, I sure do like this ceiling fan of yours."

"Jack, you are my best friend, but I'm getting a little bit tired."

Nathan's First Smile!

I've been thinking Nathan has started smiling this last week, but still wasn't completely sure if they were "real" smiles. Now I know they're real! I was changing his diaper and talking to him and then he decided to put on a show for Mommy! Plus he's 6 weeks old today!

He's just getting started.

Here it comes!

I can smile!

What a happy baby!

We love to cuddle in the morning.

Fun Weekend

My parents came to visit us again. They just can't stay away from Nathan for long! Along with my parents visiting, we had family get together at Robin's house Saturday night. The dads watched football, while the babies played together. It was so much fun to compare stories and see them interact with each other.

Look at those cheeks!

Willow, Jack, and Nathan. Here's the perfect shot...or as close to perfect as we could get, but look below to see what we had to go through to get it!

Austin Road Trip

We decided to pack up the baby gear (and I mean ALL the baby gear) and take our first road trip to Austin to visit Auntie Carrie and Uncle Chris. We were both a little nervous about how Nathan would do on a long car ride, but he just slept the whole way. The main weekend objective for the guys was football and more football. The most important game was the Arkansas game. As you can see Nathan was ready to help cheer for the Hogs.

Go Hogs Go!

Woo Pig Sooie!!

It was a great game...until they lost at the very end.

After the game, Nathan did his required 5 minutes of tummy time, but it was just too exhausting.

Happy Birthday!

Nathan is one month old today! Wayne and I really can't believe it's already been a month. Time is going by so fast! Even though we're a bit sleep deprived, we are loving every minute with our sweet baby. Since Nathan couldn't celebrate by eating his cupcake, Mommy and Daddy helped him out...we each had two, and I'm about to have another one as a midnight snack!

Grandmother's Visit

Wayne's mom, Helen, stayed with us last week. It was so wonderful to have her help, and Nathan loved bonding with her. I was a lady of leisure while she was here. It was so nice to be able to get out and run a few errands or just go to Starbucks for an hour and know that Nathan was being well taken care of. But the best part of having Helen visit, was all the goodies she brought. Our fridge and pantry were completely filled up with tons of treats. I think I put on a few pounds right along with Nathan! Today was my first day solo. Grandmother's visit marked the end of my continuous help. We had a great day though. It was filled with lots of eating and napping for both of us...our two favorite things!

Nathan loves his baths, especially now that he can sit down in the water. He really loved it when I put the washcloth on him to keep him warm. We've found out that a nighttime bath is the key to getting him relaxed and ready to sleep well into the night. He even almost fell asleep when I washed his hair! What a cutie.

Nathan's Slideshow

Wayne and I were lucky enough to be introduced to a wonderful photographer (thanks Robin!)who is just getting her business started. Her name is Nicole Eades. She came to our house to take pictures of Nathan and spent an entire morning with us. We loved every single picture and were so impressed with her skills. They are absolutely precious! Here is the link to see the slideshow that she made for us. Be sure to turn your volume up so you can hear the music she put with it.

Nathan's New Friend

Auntie Carrie and Uncle Chris came to visit this weekend along with their baby, Otis the Bulldog. Otis didn't quite know what to think of the new baby at first, but soon he couldn't stay away! We had a great weekend. Wayne and I are really getting used to having all of these visitors and being spoiled. Chris cooked us dinner each night; grilled shrimp kabobs one night and steaks the next. And Carrie set up camp at night in the living room. She had the bassinet, swing, and vibrating chair; all the supplies she could possibly need. After I fed Nathan, Carrie rocked him and put him to sleep for me, and I got to go right back to bed...until the next feeding 3 hours later.
