Halloween Party

Nathan went to his first Halloween Party today. Jennifer and I joined a group of stay-at-home moms. They are always organizing different get togethers and today was the Halloween party. Nathan told Mommy he wanted to be a kangaroo!

Isn't he the most adorable thing ever?!

His costume is one I ordered when he was first born. I thought he'd grow into it by October, but it's still just a little bit big. Remember the kid from "A Christmas Story"???

Here we are getting our picture taken.

After we did individual pictures, we tried for a group shot of all of the kids. It was total chaos but so cute! Half of them are crying...and who's that kangaroo asleep on the front row????

Nathan had lots of fun, but then it just got to be too much for the little guy. So I just laid him down in front and he slept through the pictures!

This little Kangaroo needs a pouch to crawl into.

Jennifer and Jack the pumpkin!

At the end of party, the kids got to pick out a pumpkin to paint. It was so cute to watch. They stripped down to their diapers and had so much fun. Of course the paint was EVERYWHERE! I have to say I'm glad Nate wasn't old enough to participate in that part of the party. It was a mess!

Good Morning Nate

Nathan is so cute when he wakes up in the morning or after his naps. He just stretches and stretches and is always so happy. Here's a video of him after his morning nap.

More Pumpkin Patch Pictures

It's still a little hard getting everything organized for a big outing. The one thing I forgot to do was to charge up my camera battery! Luckily, Jennifer was there with a fully charged battery, and I'm sure an extra one too! So we shared her camera when mine died. Here are some more pictures of our day with the pumpkins.

Ash, Jen, Jack, and Nathan...Nathan's getting a little sleepy.

Somebody woke up!

And now he's asleep again.

After a long day at the Arboretum, we headed to Culver's for a fattening burger and fries. The kids wore themselves out!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Arboretum yesterday to visit the pumpkin patch with Jennifer, Nick, and Jack. We brought a picnic and spent the day enjoying the perfect weather. Nathan loved being outside and seeing so many new things.

Picnic in the park

Here's a family shot after our picnic.

Nate had to wear his little baseball cap to keep the sun out.

I love my daddy!

Nathan kept laughing every time Wayne held him up.

"Nathan, why do you keep falling asleep?"

I was a little worried the pumpkins wouldn't hold us up!

Nate loved posing with all the pumpkins.

And he loves sucking on his hand!

"I think I want to do this again next year!"

Two Months Old!

On Saturday, Nathan was 2 months old! We had to celebrate Halloween style! He is growing so much and his little personality keeps coming out more and more. Now it is so easy to get him to smile and I can tell he's wanting to get a laugh out. We'll keep working on that.

We went to Nathan's 2 month checkup today. Our poor baby had to get 5 shots! He tried to be a big boy and didn't cry after the first one, but then he really let it out. It made us so sad. Nathan got a really good report from Dr. Guetershloh though. He weighs 12 lbs. 11 oz. and is 23 inches long. He is in the 75th percentile for both height and weight! Nathan is one healthy little boy!

After the doctor's appointment, I fed Nathan and then he was out! We're working on doing all sleeping in his crib, naps and nighttime. So far, it's going pretty well. At first, I think he missed the bassinet, but he's liking his crib more and more. Last night, he let me sleep from 10:30-4:30 and then from 4:30-8:30! I felt like I'd had the best night's sleep ever!

Fun with Jack

Nathan and I are keeping ourselves busy! We went over to Jennifer's house for another playdate. Nathan, Jack, Cora, and Olivia had so much fun. It will be nice when Nathan can actually PLAY with the toys but for now he's happy just watching the others. It's also so nice for me to be able to have some adult interaction!

Jack and Nathan and all of his fun toys.

After playing on the floor with the regular toys, Jennifer brought out the real fun...a parachute!

Earlier, Nathan was getting tired and was a little fussy, but once we started playing with the parachute, he just kicked his feet and was so happy! The other babies were laughing and screaming because it was so much fun!

Here's the end result...this means it was a successful afternoon!

Playdate

My friend Adriana and her little girl Annalise came to visit us this last weekend also. Yesterday we went to Marla's house to have lunch and play. Kelly and Annalise did most of the playing while Nathan slept. The little girls were so sweet with him! You could tell they've had lots of practice with their dolls. When he cried, Annalise wanted to give him his pacifier and Kelly kept checking on him in the swing.

Kelly held Nathan like a pro. She loved having a real baby doll to play with!

Uncle Stu, Aunt Tiffany, and Lexa

Stuart, Tiffany, and Lexa came to visit us this last weekend. We had a great time with the babies. Tiffany and I even got to get away for a few hours to go shopping! We left the guys with the babies, diaper bags, and lots of instructions! But they did a great job. I think I'll have to get out and go shopping more often!
