Charlotte's First Stitches!

While we were at the fair Friday night, Charlotte stayed at Grandmother's house and had a little accident. She loves to run, and this is the age that all of the bumps and bruises happen! While playing in the living room, Charlotte tripped and hit her head on the coffee table. She must have hit it right on the corner. Helen said it bled pretty bad at first but quickly stopped, but she knew it probably needed a stitch. She called us to let us know what happened and since I didn't leave a carseat, she had one of her friends pick the two of them up and take them to the urgent care center. She actually needed 3 stitches! Helen said Charlotte was really good and didn't even cry that much while they did the stitches.

The next day, I took her back to the doctor so that he could look at it and make sure it was healing ok. That's where I took these pictures. Nathan LOVED being there and acting like he was the daddy! He kept telling Charlotte to be a big girl and not to cry. Really, he couldn't wait to see what the stitches looked like. They put a band aid over her head, so none of us had seen the actual stitches until the next day when the doctor took it off to examine it. Nathan was so funny because he kept wanting to look at it. At night, he loves to help me (he opens the band aid) take off the old one and put a new one on. We go back on Tuesday, Day 4, to get them taken out.

Even though Charlotte has an ouchie, I think she looks so beautiful in these pictures!

And to add to the cut on her head, she has a cut on her lip where she fell with me and bit her lip, and there's another bruise on the other side of her head where Nathan tried to "help" her onto the couch...I need to keep this girl in a bubble!

Big Orange Pumpkin Patch

Last week, we met Meredith and Andrew at the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch in Celina. I love this place because the admission is reasonable ($7) and it includes the petting zoo, a pumpkin for the kids, and a hay ride. Nathan, Charlotte, and Andrew had so much fun running around, getting dirty, and seeing the animals. Both Nathan and Charlotte were a little unsure of feeding the goats at first. Charlotte was standing about 10 feet away and leaning over with a food pellet thinking the goat could reach it! But by the end of the day, they were practically climbing in their cages!

Charlotte Eating Crayons!

Nathan loves to color and draw, and Charlotte is always wanting to do exactly what big brother does. So when he was coloring last week, Charlotte was having a big fit because she wanted to also. So I thought I'd let her...I was worried about her getting them on her clothes so I stripped her down. She actually did a pretty good job, and I was so proud of her. I went to the sink to put two dishes (I'm not exaggerating) into the dishwasher, and when I came back, this is what I found! I think she was just waiting for me to leave so she could chow down on the crayons. Nathan thought it was funny and didn't try to intervene. Needless to say, we'll have to wait a while longer before we try coloring again!

New Dress from Mama

Now that I have a little girl, I am so lucky that Mama knows how to sew! I know she would love to teach me, and I would love to learn...I just have to find the time! But for now, we're happy letting Mama do all the work! Here is a new dress she made for Charlotte. It fits her so perfectly, and she got so many compliments at church this morning.

Painting my nephew's nursery!

This weekend, Charlotte and I drove down to Austin to paint the nursery for Carrie.  Wayne and Nathan came on Saturday since Nathan had a soccer game.  Chris and I worked all evening and finished at midnight!  We were going to do one coat on Friday evening and one on Saturday, but we decided to just stay up and get it finished so that we could just relax and have fun on Saturday!

The nursery looks so good!  I must say, Chris and I did such a good job!  I wish I had gotten some pictures of the finished project, but by the time we finished, I was exhausted!  I just can't wait to see how it looks with the furniture in it!
While we were getting ready to go out to lunch, Charlotte decided she needed to put makeup on just like Mommy.  She thinks she's in trouble :)

Carrie said in a very serious voice, "Oh, Charlotte, did you get in mommy's makeup?"

Then I told her she is a pretty baby and she liked hearing that :)

Auntie Carrie got her dressed and went outside for a little photo shoot.  She is the sweetest thing because she will do exactly what you ask her to do.

Mommy and Charlotte

Ok, no more pictures :)

After we got back from lunch and running a few errands, this little guy was waiting for us!  He and Otis are buddies.  Nathan is always so sweet to Otis and Otis loves Nathan.  Nathan played and played with Daisy, too!

For dinner, we had barbecue and Uncle Chris got Nathan dessert.  He loved his ice cream cone!  By the time Nathan finished this, he was a mess!

We had fun watching the Rangers play and by the end of the night, this little guy was all tuckered out!
We had a great weekend...now all we need is Baby Pearce to join us!
