Playing Outside

I think if you click on this picture, it will enlarge. A couple of days ago, Nathan was running in the hallway (I was chasing him so I feel guilty) tripped, and hit this folding wooden screen that we have in the hallway. He hit it right on the edge so it made a bruise going from his forehead to his cheek. So sad :( He really didn't cry that much...I think I was more upset than he was. It's so hard for me to have the mindset that he's a boy, adventurous, and playful. Even though he's a boy, I can't stand for him to get hurt! But what's funny is that all of his friends who are girls never have bruises, just the boys. I'm happy he's full of energy and likes to explore. I just want him to be careful doing it!

And here are a few videos of us playing outside. Nathan loves this tricycle that his Uncle Stuart and Aunt Tiffany got him for Christmas.

This video is funny because he's singing to Gloworm in the beginning. And then at the end, when Nathan runs to me and says Baby, that means he wants to see the "baby" on the camera. Whenever I have my camera out, he always asks to see the baby (him) and we have to go through all of my pictures. He especially loves the videos and smiles the whole time while watching them.

Our New Addition

I wish I could say that this is our new puppy forever, but we're only keeping her for a week. My sister, Jennifer, and her kids are going to be her permanent family. We get to keep her this week and then we're taking her to Houston this weekend. She is the sweetest little Golden Retriever puppy ever, and Nathan LOVES her! My niece and nephew are going to be so excited when they meet their new pet. And we're getting her used to being around kids because Nathan is not shy about trying to pick her up and giving her hugs. Here are some pictures from yesterday, our first day with her.

There is one puppy left from her litter that I begged Wayne for, but it didn't work...maybe I just need another human baby!!!

Nathan and Jack's Field Trip

Nathan hasn't seen his best friend, Jack, in a while so on Saturday we went to his house for a visit. Jack has a cool playroom that Nathan loved! Since he's obsessed with cars and trains, he was in Heaven when he saw Jack's train set. What's so funny is that Nathan loved to not only play with the trains, but to also take apart the track. So while Nathan was destroying the track, sweet Jack kept trying to put it together again. He finally gave up :)

After playing at Jack's house for a while, we went to lunch at Jason's Deli and then walked down to the pet store to look at all the animals.

Nathan and Jack loved looking at all of the fish. I had to pretty much drag Nathan out of the store when it was time to go home!

Then we moved on to the birds, cats, lizards, etc... So now I know that when we need something easy to do to kill time, we'll head to the pet store!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!

Last Friday, Nathan was invited to Natalie's house for a Valentine Party. Nathan had so much fun playing with all of the toys, attempting an art project, and eating snacks. He was a little shy at first, but quickly made himself at home by exploring every single room in the house, getting out toys from Natalie's closet, and stuffing himself full of blueberry muffins! There was tons of other food, but the muffins were his favorite!

"What would you girls like to hear? I'm taking request from the ladies!"

Here we are decorating a Valentine shaker. He was supposed to put a few stickers on at a time, but after the first two stickers, he thought it was more fun to dig around in the bowl and scatter them all over the floor.

So we moved to the next table to color our shaker. And again, Nathan would rather color the table than the shaker.

So Nathan did what he does best...eat! I believe this is muffin #5, possibly 6.

Yummy!!! Could this be muffin #7????

Lauren tried her best to show Nathan what to do. She was Nathan's Valentine for the day.

After decorating our crafts, we had fun with the parachute. Nathan went crazy shaking it and then couldn't help himself. He just had to crawl onto it while the other kids were trying to puff it up in the air.

But the one toy Nathan couldn't let go of was the stroller! It was so funny to see all of the little girls playing so gently with the baby doll and loving it. Once Nathan got a hold of it, he carried it around by its neck, threw it into the stroller upside down, and then tore through the house, throwing the baby out while turning a corner. He just laughed and laughed!

Open Gym at Gymboree

Nathan is always full of energy, much more than his mommy! So we took advantage of Open Gym at Gymboree one day last week. The late afternoon, after Nathan's nap, but before Daddy gets home, is always a tiring time. He's been going to the music class at Gymboree, but has really missed the "play" part. He was so excited when we got to Gymboree and went into the play area instead of the music room. He just took off!

Sorry about the "diaper" shots. His jeans are new, but a little big in the waist.

Videos, Vidoes, and More Videos!

One morning last week, Nathan and I had absolutely nothing planned for the day (which is rare). So we spent the morning taking our time getting ready. In fact we both stayed in our pajamas until lunch time! I took lots of videos of Nathan and thought I'd share a few. The main point of me taking the videos was to try to get him on camera "blowing his nose." It's hilarious because he doesn't really blow his nose. He just puts the Kleenex to his face and makes the blowing sound with his mouth. Anyway, no matter how many times I asked, he wouldn't do it. But of course, after I put the camera up, he blew his nose over and over :)

I did finally get a quick video of him doing his trick, which is the grand finale! You will also see Nathan's pajama's unzipped because, as most of you know, he is obsessed with his belly button. Enjoy!

Playing House

Nathan, like most kids, loves to be outside. I think that if he could spend every minute of everyday outside, he would gladly do that! So we planned a play date last week with a few of Nathan's friends at the Allen shopping center. We've been a few times, and Nathan loves it. This is the place with miniature houses outside. Since it's close to my mom's house, she met us there along with Cookie.

I think someone is excited about going to play...and seeing Mama!

Nathan and Molly had so much fun playing with the rocks. They would make small little piles in one spot, then make another pile in another spot. Molly was a good girl and kept the rocks out of the houses. Nathan, on the other hand, took rocks with him while he played. At one point, he was in a house being very quiet. I went to check on him and found he was putting the rocks in his mouth! When I saw him, he smiled at me and pointed his finger while saying, "No, no!" Another little boy that was with him, said "I told him to ask his Mommy if he could eat rocks." Nathan, you are so funny!

Nathan and Lauren are trying to open the safe. Is there some money in there for Mommy?

Lauren and Nathan really love each other! Here is Lauren giving my baby a kiss!

Alison and I with our favorite little people :)

And here are two videos of Nathan going through the maze and then hugging the speaker that was playing music and doing a little dance.

Playdate with Reece and Lauren

Last week, Reece, invited Nathan and Lauren to his house to play. It is so much fun to see how different their personalities are, but to also see how similar they are. The boys seemed to be the wild ones, while Lauren was the "helper." Reece had a helium balloon that he and Nathan loved to hit across the room, chase after it, and hit again. At one point, Nathan was upset about something, and Lauren brought the balloon over to him to try to make him happy again...so sweet.

Here is Nathan stuffing his face with HANDFULS of Puffs (he used to call them "ups" and now he calls them "pops")

One huge similarity between them and all babies is their love for snacks! They always wanted something to eat. We went from Puffs and Cheerios to raisins to vanilla wafers.

And of course, no raisin can go un-eaten...

"What's wrong with eating 3 boxes of raisins one after the other?"

The other big hit of the day was this car. They all wanted to ride it and push it. This was the one thing that caused a couple of arguments :) They don't quite get the idea of sharing when it comes to something as wonderful as a car! There were a few times that they tried to pull the driver out (while the car was moving).

Thanks for inviting us over Reece!
