Fun with Paper Towels

I've always thought Nathan was creative, but how could a paper towel be so much fun? Nathan loves wipe his high chair, hands, or really anything with a paper towel. On this day, he just finished cleaning the bar stools and then I guess he wanted to save the paper towel for later. So he stuffed it down his shirt!

Here's a video of the funny moment. Grandmother and I were laughing so hard at him!

And after Nathan had fun stuffing the paper towel down his shirt, he decided to tear it up and make a mess :)

We also got to keep Cookie, my parents' dog, for a few days while they were living it up in New York City. Cookie really is like a little playmate for Nathan. She is such a good sport!

"Here are Cookie's eyes..."

"And her nose..."

"And her paw."
Right before this, Nathan brought a book over to Cookie like he was reading to her! Then he'd lift up her paw and let it drop like a dead weight. Cookie was so tired that she didn't care and let Nathan pick up and drop her paw over and over!

Nathan, the Maid

Nathan loves to play with my broom and mop! Whenever I open the laundry room door, I immediately hear little feet running towards it. Nathan, are you telling me you WANT to do chores? That can easily be arranged once you learn how to control the broom a little better. Trying to hold the broom sideways while going through a door isn't the smartest thing to do. Plus, you've already knocked over a few of Mommy's pretty things :)

"This is hard work...I can see why you don't do it more often."

I took Nathan in to see his doctor for his 15 month checkup. Boy was he in a great mood! Nathan weighs 24 1/2 pounds (50 percentile), he is 31.8 inches tall (80 percentile), and is absolutely perfect!

Reece's Birthday Party

On Saturday, Nathan and I went to Reece's first birthday party. Not only was there tons of good food, lots of toys to play with, but there was also a bounce house! This is Nathan's third time to be in one, and I think he's hooked! This first video is of Nathan just getting started. The second one shows he has no fear!

Sorry it's sideways again

One of Reece's cousins helped Nathan go down the slide at first.

"Mommy, I know it's cold outside, but I don't care!"

Who do you think is going to be the daredevil in the family?

Nathan banged and banged on this piano. In this picture, he is actually singing along!

After the party, we headed over to Mama and Papa's house because Wayne was out of town on business for the weekend.

We both ate a ton of food at the birthday party, be there is always room for Mama's spaghetti!

15 Months Old!

Nathan is now 15 months old, and is so much fun! It's amazing to me how much he can do and understand now. I remember thinking how neat it would be when I could ask him to do something and he would actually do it. He knows how to throw trash away (although sometimes he throws toys away). He wipes down his highchair, he puts his dirty clothes in the hamper, and he understands simple commands. He is also saying more and more words! So far he can say: dog, cat, duck, light (li), nana, mommy (mummy), dada, mama, papa (boppa), lion (used to be yi-yon, now it's li-lon), bubble, no (one of his favorites), apple, ball, bye (southern style), and baby! Baby is his newest one. Along with the good, comes the bad though. If Nathan gets frustrated or doesn't get his way, he throws himself down on the floor and cries. It was kind of funny at first...now, not so cute :)

Here are a few pictures and videos I took of Nathan in the bathtub, his favorite time.

Sucking on his washcloth is now an every bath occurrence.

He's even able to multi-task with it still in his mouth! It's so funny because he sticks it in his mouth, sucks, and then plays with his other toys while still holding onto the washcloth!

"I can wash my own tummy Mommy."

"I love my washcloth, so don't even think about taking it away from me."

Oh and if the washcloth isn't in his mouth, rubber ducky is.

Here are the videos (I guess I went a bit overboard on bath time documentation)

Blowing bubbles "Nathan" style.

Blowing bubbles the right way, and saying "duck"

Typical Boy

Nathan's boyish personality is in full force! He has so much energy, loves to climb on anything, loves to be outside and doesn't mind getting dirty, doesn't keep his room picked up, and now he's fascinated by rocks!

Anytime we're getting ready to run an errand, I always have to allow a few extra minutes for Nathan to play in the driveway. Well today, Nathan did his usual running up and down the driveway, but then he started noticing the rocks. So he'd run a little and then stop to pick one up.

You can't really tell here, but he's got about 4 in his hand. As he would try to add another to the collection, one would fall out. Nathan would try to pick that one up and then another would fall and so on...needless to say, it was a little frustrating so he got mad, threw them all down, and started over :)

When I say, "Ready, Set..." Nathan finishes with "Doe!" He stands still while I start and then when he says DOE, he runs down the driveway. Then we start all over again. Sometimes he tries to say the whole thing, but he ends up saying, "doe, Doe, DOE!" I swear, it really is the cutest thing ever :)

Can you see the rocks in his little hand? He was sitting here watching a plane go by.

You're my sweet baby boy Nathan!

Nathan's First Haircut

You all know that I attempted to give Nathan a haircut a while back. Well I decided it was time for another haircut and thought I'd let a "professional" do it this time! I took Nathan to Cool Cuts which is a kid friendly place, and he had so much fun!

He got to sit in a fire truck and watch a Baby Einstein video!

Nathan got a little embarrassed by all of the compliments his stylist kept giving him :)

He was a very sweet boy and held very still, like when he's at the doctor's office. Although it's hard to tell in these pictures because his hair is so light, it looks really good! It's more evened out now.

What a good looking little boy!

Dance Fever

Sorry the video is sideways, I don't know how to turn it around! Nathan loves to dance. He used to just bob up and down and clap his hands, but now he's added a few new moves like turning in circles! He gets his dancing abilities from me :)

Playing in the Leaves

Yesterday, we went to visit Mama, Papa, and Cookie. It was a beautiful day, and their yard was filled with leaves. What boy (and grandparents and dog) doesn't like to roll in the leaves?

"Keep throwing them Papa!!!"

"Come on Cookie, you can have some of my leaves too!"

Here's the whole gang frolicking about :)

"Who's ready to play? I throw a mean curve ball!"

After playing outside for a while, we were parched, so it was Popsicle time.

Nathan and Mama are sharing a "moment."

The only problem is that Nathan doesn't know portion control, whether it's food or toys, he wants two of everything!

"Mission accomplished! Mama is such a pushover!"

Video: Reece & Nathan at Tower Club

Here is a cute video that Haewon took of the boys playing and being silly together at the Tower Club Saturday night. Excuse my voice in the background!

Dinner at the Tower Club

Saturday night was our big night out! Our friends, Dan and Haewon, treated us to dinner at the Tower Club which is a restaurant downtown. Nathan wanted to look his best!

"Adriana, do you remember buying me this outfit?"

Isn't he the sweetest, most handsome little boy ever?

We were on the 48th floor and had our own private room! The view was beautiful...we could see all of downtown!

Nathan loved looking out the window and seeing all of the lights.

"I'm ready for my spaghetti!"

Haewon, Dan, and Reece

I came prepared with some books and toys for the boys to play with to keep them entertained. Nathan LOVES his books and was ready for Dan to read to him.

Nathan and Reece were so cute together! They ran around and played and played with each other. They were especially amused by the mirrors. It was like there were four kids to play with! It really was hilarious because they kept imitating each other. One would run into the mirror and bang on it, and then the other would do it.

Although our night started out perfectly, we had a bit of bad luck. Reece and Nathan were having so much fun together but then Reece had a fall. He hit his head on the edge of the metal window sill and cut it pretty bad. I felt so sorry for him because he was having so much fun earlier. So they had to leave to take Reece to the hospital. Dan and Haewon were so sweet and insisted that we stay and finish our dinner. Although the food was magnificent, it wasn't the same without them. We'll just have to plan another night out soon! Luckily Reece did not need stitches, just the liquid bandage. I swear, it's so hard having a boy because they play so hard and have no caution!

This is a picture of Mr. GQ! I bought this outfit for him at Dillard's and it was on sale for $15! What a pose!
