American Girl Day

Charlotte had a big day last week. For Christmas, Mama and Papa got her an American Girl doll named Kit. Kit has a little bob just like Charlotte and is cute! Charlotte has been to The American Girl store before when Aunt Tiffany was here. We took Charlotte and Lexa to lunch here, and both of the girls had a great time. Charlotte didn't have her doll yet, but was able to borrow one. So now that she has her own, we had to plan a girl's day out. Grandmother, Mama, and I took Charlotte to the store for lunch and a little shopping. Charlotte was so excited for her American Girl day! She picked out her clothes and got Kit all dressed too.

We went to the store, and Grandmother and Mama had just as much fun looking at all of the dolls and accessories as Charlotte did! It really is crazy how many things you can buy for your doll! Charlotte picked out a little bathing suit and purse for Kit which was so cute! We then had a great lunch. The cafe is pink and white and completely girly. When you go into the cafe, they give you a high chair to put your doll in. They also have pink bow ponytail holders as napkin rings that you get to take home. And they give your doll a little tea cup and saucer that you can take home too. Charlotte was stuffing it all into her purse. The food was great too! Not only is there a cafe, but there is also a hair salon for the dolls and you can get their ears pierced! Charlotte said she'd get Kit's ears pierce when she is a little older.

It really was a special day with special people. I feel so lucky that Charlotte and Nathan have their grandparents here to be able to do these things with.

Misc

Here are some fun pictures from the past months. First, Nathan went with a friend out to dinner, so Daddy took Charlotte on a date night. They went out for pizza and ice cream. Charlotte was so excited! She wanted to change her clothes and wear a dress and a cardigan. She was so cute.

Alison Stanley and her kids, Lauren and Trevor, have been our friends since Nathan and Lauren were babies! We all have so much fun together and I love that our kids LOVE to be together! Over Christmas break, we got together for a play date and then to get yogurt. It was such a fun day.

The last pictures are of one of Nathan's Christmas presents, a huge Lego set! It was the biggest one he's gotten and he was so excited about it! Sweet little Nathan worked so hard on it for HOURS! And Wayne and I really didn't help him much. There were only a few little things at the end that he asked for help on. I can't tell you how impressed we were that he was able to follow the directions so well, and be so patient in putting it together. There was one night that he was working on it, and it got pretty late. We were getting ready for bed, and Nathan asked if we could leave the light on for him and he would go to bed later. He and Nathan were sleeping on our floor that night so we said ok. He stayed up an extra hour and a half! But when he finished it, he was so proud. Nathan is such a smart little guy.

Louisiana Tech Bowl Game

The day after Christmas, the four of us went to The Heart of Texas Bowl where Louisina Tech was playing against Illinois. They ended up winning 38-18! Nathan and Charlotte had so much fun while we were there. We ate nothing but junk food which is always fun. And we sat right in front of the cheerleaders...Charlotte's favorite part.

Pearce

The week after Christmas, we had more visitors! Carrie, Chris, and Pearce came to our house so we could do Christmas with them. And then Chris went home the next day and Carrie and Pearce stayed the rest of the week. Pearce is so funny in that he ADORES Nathan and Charlotte! I never hear Pearce laugh so hard and uncontrollably as he does when he is around Nathan. I swear, Nathan could just jump and Pearce would start laughing. It is the funniest thing. And Charlotte tries so hard to compete with Nay Nay. Pearce thinks Charlotte is fun to be with, but Nathan is his idol. And Nathan just loves having that title. So the whole time they were here, it was loud, energetic, crazy, and funny. The only down time the three got was when Pearce took a nap or it was bed time. Carrie and I agreed that even though they were crazy together, at least they were all having fun. Carrie and Pearce stayed with me through New Year's and then went to Mama and Papa's house.

We opened presents Saturday night. On Sunday, we just hung out and ran a few errands. Monday was a fun day. We met Mama at the Shops at Legacy and ate lunch at Benihana...the restaurant where the chef cooks on your table. Nathan and Charlotte had never been there before but LOVED it! They loved it for different reasons though. Nathan liked the entertaining cook and all of the food. Charlotte only liked the entertaining chef and NONE of the food. She didn't eat a single bite, only drank her lemonade and took pictures. The chef was so great. He did things like throw an egg (still in the shell) up high, catch it on a metal spatula and then spin it around on the edge of the spatula and flip it into his hat! Then packed a bowl full of rice and flipped that whole thing up in the air. Plus he was just funny with the kids.

After lunch, we went to the ice cream shop. Charlotte did eat here. Then we went to JoAnn's to get some supplies for Pearce's birthday. Petland, a puppy store happened to be right next door, so we couldn't help ourselves. OH MY GOSH! Those puppies were so cute. I think we held four!

The next day we tried out a new play area by my house called The Play Street Museum. It was really neat because it's an indoor play area with a miniature town set up. There was a Kroger, a vet, a fire station, a restaurant, a school house. It was perfect for kids to play and be imaginative. Plus each little building was stocked with all sorts of props. Charlotte was in Heaven. We were there for about 2 hours, and I think she could have stayed longer! The boys had fun too, but Nathan got a little bored after a while. After that, we went to Costco to shop and look around, but mainly to eat! We got huge pizza slices and then sampled all of the food and snacks they had in every aisle.

On New Year's Eve, Mama and Papa came over to keep our angels while Carrie and I met Wayne for dinner and a movie. We went to Northpark mall to see American Sniper. We ate dinner at Kona Grill first and then saw the best movie we've seen in a long time! LOVED IT!!!!

As always, we had the best time. It is so great to see our kids have so much fun together!
