Waking Up

"I found my thumb!"

Although I'm tired in the morning when Nathan wakes up, he is completely full of energy! I love going to get him after he wakes up because he's so happy! He wakes up babbling and talking to himself and is never laying in his crib the way I put him in there. As you can see in the pictures, he is usually completely sideways and all the way at one end. That's why he has a bald spot! These pictures were after his morning nap.

Notice the satin sheet. It's not in there because I think it's pretty. It's in there because I thought it might help his hair grow in! He scoots around so much that I thought the satin sheet wouldn't grab his hair as much. I'm not sure if it's working, but it's worth a try :) And look at his one stretched out sock and one bare foot!

He has also learned how to turn his crib music on. I always know when he wakes up because I hear the music (and him talking) over the monitor. It's the cutest thing!

Bleary Eyed

I got my first taste of "Mommy Competition" today! I've been planning on letting Nathan go to Mother's Day Out this next year when he's one. Little did I know that you have to register 6 months in advance! When I found that out (a week before the registration dates), My neighbor Alison and I scrambled to research the different programs and tour the different places. We found one that we loved, but since we're not members of the church we had to wait for pre-registration before we could register, but we were assured there would be plenty of spots. WRONG! Yesterday we found out that there were only 2 spots left and if we wanted them, we'd have to get there bright and early...5:00 in the morning! I rolled out of bed at 4:30, picked Alison up at 4:45 and got there right at 5:00. When we saw there were already 5 other moms in line, we got a little nervous, but luckily they were registering older kids. So we did get in! I just had no idea how early you have to do all of this! Now I guess I need to start checking out preschools!

Even though I was exhausted when I got home and was wishing Nathan would sleep an hour later, he woke up at his usual 7:00 on the dot and was ready to play!

"Mommy, you look rough!"

Wayne got a few minutes of play time in with Nathan before he left for work.

"My daddy is so much fun!"

These next pictures are close ups of Nathan. I think he is just the most precious baby ever! One close up picture would have been fine, but I tend to go a little overboard! I love his eyelashes! I wish I could say they're from me, but I'm not that lucky!

Easter Pictures

We had so much fun yesterday! We took Nathan to a studio to get Easter pictures taken (with a live bunny) and to get pictures of him and Grandmother for her birthday present. Nathan was so cute during his session! He loves to hear his voice now and was babbling and yelling the whole time. He was in the best mood! I knew they wouldn't really approve of me taking my own pictures so I had to hide behind the lights to sneak in a few :)

The ones of him and the bunny were especially fun to watch but a little scary for the bunny. Nathan loved touching it, but would sometimes grab a little too hard. We were having to juggle trying to save the bunny from Nathan's grip plus get him to look at the camera and smile! At one point Nathan grabbed both ears and tried to put them in his mouth! The poor bunny kept trying to hop away!

"Ok Mr. Photographer, you just let me know when you're ready."

These next pictures are of him with his matching hat! Although my pictures aren't that great, the photographer got lots of cute ones. I was so happy Wayne and his mom were with me this time so that they could see how hard it is to pick just one picture! Wayne couldn't decide which one he liked best so we got 3 different poses!

Stroller Skating

Nathan and I tried a new sport yesterday...stroller skating! It's exactly what it sounds like. You skate around the roller rink while pushing your stroller. I was a little nervous about the safety of it at first, not Nathan's safety but mine! I haven't been on skates in FOREVER! We had so much fun though. We met a bunch of other mom's there and got a good workout!

Who's ready to stroller skate?!

Thorne is Nathan's friend from Gymboree.

Marla and Kelly skated with us too. We were both worried about falling flat.I never fell (although I came close a few times), but Marla wasn't so lucky!

"You wanna race?"

"Come on Mommy, let's show them what we're made of!"

"Ooooh, my tummy feels a little queasy after going in so many circles."

Here's a group shot of all of us stroller skating moms. I think this is going to have to be a regular activity.

Nathan had so much fun and was in such a good mood, but when he gets tired and hungry, he just can't help it. At least we made it to the end of the session!

Happy Birthday Grandmother!

Wayne's mom Helen just turned 60 and we were all there to help her celebrate. Since this was a big birthday, we all decided that it would be fun to surprise her. We told Helen we were going to take her out to eat for her birthday. Little did she know there was a big group of family and friends waiting for her! Tiffany (my sister in law) and I snuck away early saying we had to run by the store to get some juice for Nathan and then we headed to the restaurant to get everything set up. We are so sneaky!

Here is Helen when she first walked in. She was so surprised!

Here's a group shot

Here is a "glamour shot" of Helen blowing out her candles!

For Helen's birthday gift we got her a locket bracelet and put a picture of all of her grandchildren in it. Grandmother loved it!

Tiffany gave Nathan some wrist rattles. I love these because he can't lose them or drop them on the ground. Nathan couldn't stop looking at them!
"When are we cutting the cake?"

Logan, our nephew, loved dipping his crackers in Ranch dressing. He loved it so much that he decided to lick the plate to finish it off :)

How funny!

Nathan with Uncle Stuart

Nathan and his cousin Lexa. They were so cute together. They really do love to talk and play with each other.

Happy Valentine's Day

Mama and Papa came to visit a few days ago. Wayne and I got our Valentine's Day card plus all of our favorite chocolates. I'm embarrassed to say there is none left :) And Nathan got one of his first cards too! We had a wonderful, relaxing Valentine's Day. Nathan even got a visit from his girlfriend Kelly who personally delivered a Valentine to him!

He was very interested in his card!

"That teddy has cheeks like mine!"

Mom went to Gymboree with us and bought Nathan a little gift, a Gymboree CD (which we both love) and these balls to play with. They are perfect for him because he can get his little fingers in the holes to hold them.

"Who wants to play?"

Here's our little boy in his baseball pajamas. It is way past his bedtime, but you wouldn't know it because he was having so much fun showing off.

"I'll do more tummy time if you let me stay up."

And these pictures are from today at Gymboree. Nathan is mesmerized by the teacher blowing bubbles!

He was so cute when the bubbles fell around him. He kept trying to grab them!

And Nathan LOVES the parachute! I laid him down on it, and he kept pulling it up around him.

*Look at the post below to see Nathan's 6 month pictures :)
