Tea Party

We went over to Mama's house to go to lunch and to see grandma. Everytime we see mama, charlotte wants to have a tea party. She is so sweet and dainty with her tea!

Nathan's Fun in the Sun

One more week for Nathan! For his end of the year party, his class got to have a fun in the sun day. Normally, they have water activities outside with sprinklers and water slides, but because we have had so much rain, the ground was already too saturated so the kids just had dry bounce houses. There was also a dj, popcorn, snow cones, and lots of fun! I was so happy that the rain stayed away for one day so that the kids could have fun!

And then that night, I went out with some of Nathan's friends moms! We had a nice dinner and s few drinks!

Charlotte's Last Day

Charlotte has been out of school for a week now, and we are really enjoying it! I love not having to fix a lunch, pick out her clothes, or wake her up! Her end of the year party was so nice. She got a diploma from her teachers and one of the moms even bought all of the kids the Dr. Seuss book, "Oh the Places You'll Go". Nathan has one too and we are suppose to have their teachers sign it each year. Both of Charlotte's teachers were very ready eyed at the party. I would have been sad too but I am so happy charlotte had one more year there in Pre K 5. I know I'll be sad next year though! Mrs Luigs and Mrs. Joan even made each of us a scrapbook with pictures of our own kids. I couldn't believe they put that much time and effort into this gift! That is just one example of what sweet people they are. I have loved seeing how caring they are to all of the kids but especially Charlotte.

Subbing With Nay Nay

I am getting myself back in the groove of teaching! Eventually I'll go back full time, but for now, I have been subbing. I mainly try to sub at Nathan's school but I've also subbed at a couple of other Lewisville schools. I love being at Nathan's school though because we go there together and I see him during the day and then we come home together. Thank you to Grandmother, Mama and Papa, for helping me with Charlotte when I sub!!! On this day, I actually subbed in Nathan's class. His dual language class is divided into two groups: red and blue, and they alternate days so that one group gets Spanish one day and the other gets English and then vice versa. Well, Sra. Chau asked me to sub for her but said it would be with the other group. And that was fine because I'd still see Nathan a bunch. But it turned out that she got the groups mixed up and his group was actually going to be my class! When Nathan found this out, he was beyond excited! Wayne and I pretty much threatened him with his life that he better be good and not show off for his friends. He was an angel. He was so sweet and helpful. All of the kids were really good for me, and it was fun to be with his friends and see how they really are. Nathan told me I did a good job teaching but that I was a tiny bit too strict...ok, good! That means I did a great job! I'll be back at his school on Friday but in 2nd grade. If only I could get a job there! How wonderful would that be?!

Charlotte's Water Day at School

Charlotte's class got to have a water day at school complete with popsicles, sprinklers, hoses, face painting, bubbles, shaving cream, and mud! She and her little friends were so cute splashing around in their bathing suits. This is her last week of school! I'm sad because I absolutely loved her classmates. They were such a sweet class and I LOVED her teachers. But she'll be back there next year for Pre-K 5...after that year, I will be very sad to not ever go back. We will have been there for 5 years at that point. I can't think of that now or I'll cry! I love this school so much. The teachers are so wonderful and caring. And Charlotte feels so confident there. But, I am kind of happy to not have to get her up in the morning and pack her lunch and get her dressed! It will be kind of nice to just be lazy in the mornings :)

Happy Mother's Day! And Happy Birthday!

This year Charlotte's birthday was on Mother's Day! We had her party the day before so we spent Sunday with just the two of us. We decided that the one thing that would make us both happy would be for Daddy and Nathan to treat us to a manicure and pedicure and lunch! Charlotte wore the dress I made her. We went to a new sushi place for lunch. I know this doesn't sound like a place she would want, but I was really craving it and Wayne hates it so this was my opportunity. And Charlotte loves edamame so I figured it was a good compromise. Plus the nail place was right next door. Charlotte decided that she did not like edamame on this day AND didn't like the smell of my sushi! That's the picture of her holding my nose. In fact, she actually gagged once when I ate a piece! But after she got used to it, she said I could eat as much as I wanted. We had so much fun together and just talked and talked the whole time.

When I was finished, we went next door for our nails. She was so cute in that big chair, and all of the ladies thought she was a little doll. They worked and worked on the two of us! I let Charlotte pick out our color and she chose a hot pink. She had water to sip on and Mommy had wine! I had so much fun spending the day with my little buddy. She's the best Mother's Day present ever.
