School starts!

School is finally here! It was the first day for all three of us! Wayne took Nathan and Charlotte to school each day the first week so that I could get there early for my class. They loved having Daddy walk them in, and he even stopped by my room to say hi to me and my students! I was so proud of Charlotte because she never cried or got sad about starting school. This is opposite of how Nathan was when he started Kindergarten. I remember him crying almost every day the second week of school, not wanting to go back. It made me so sad! And one day, he even ran out of the front door and hid! Mr. Martin, the principal had to persuade him to come back...sad and mortifying at the same time. Once he came back in, he was hugging me so tight that the counselor had to pry his little hands off me! We talk about that now, and it is so funny to us! They both love that I'm at the school with them and get to see them all the time. Charlotte's class always takes a bathroom break in my hall so she will run into my room, give me a kiss and hug, and then run back to get in her line. Her teacher and I are friends so she doesn't mind Charlotte doing that! And I always see Nathan's class when they come in from recess. I love getting hugs from them during the day!!!!!

Getting ready for school

Kindergarten and Third grade is almost here! And Second Grade for me! Although I don't have any new clothes for me yet, ha! Charlotte and Nathan modeled what they wanted to wear on the first day. Charlotte definitely loves her clothes and Nathan loves his shoes! And I got Charlotte's hair cut. This was a bit of a struggle because my baby is growing up and wants to have LONG hair now. I talked her into getting one last haircut. I told her it would help make her hair grow longer after this. I'm not sure how much longer I can talk her into her short, cute bob...makes me kinda sad.

Happy 9th Birthday Nathan

I say this every year, but I just can't believe how much Nathan and Charlotte are growing up. Time is going by too fast! My baby boy is 9 years old! This has been a crazy summer with me going back to work, but I am so happy to be able to be with both Nathan and Charlotte at school! And Nathan is so proud to have me there. He still loves his Mommy and Daddy!!!! For his party this year, we kept it simple because I am so busy and had it at Urban Air, a trampoline park. We had a great time!!!

Fun with Auntie Carrie and Pearce!

I got a job at Nathan and Charlotte's school teaching 2nd grade and I am so excited!  Since I've been out of teaching for a while, I had to take some "new" teacher classes before school started, so I decided it would be great for all if  Nay Nay and Charlotte stayed with Auntie Carrie for the week.  We met in Waco for Carrie to get N and C.  Of course, Auntie Carrie had several fun things planned for them for the week.  As soon as they got back to Austin, she went ahead and took the kids to the club to swim.  N and C loved the club pool because of the kids' area, big twisty slide, and huge pool! That night, they played dress up with the costumes Nay Nay and Charlotte brought.  Nay Nay was so sweet to bring Pearce a Spider-Man costume and cape that he had outgrown and Charlotte brought her cheerleader outfit....they had so much fun running around and using their imaginations!  Auntie Carrie made a chicken and rice casserole that Nathan loved!  He has already asked me to get the recipe to make at home.  That night, they ALL, including Sissy, slept in Carrie's bed and Carrie slept in the guest room.  They were so sweet to Sissy, especially Charlotte!  They loved having her sleep with them :)  On Monday, they went to Blue Hole, one of Pearce's favorite water spots!  N and C loved it and they all had so much fun swimming and sliding down the waterfall and watching dumb older kids jump off the rocky cliffs.....where there is a sign that says "NO JUMPING!"  They even saw a girl gash her foot on a rock when she jumped.  I don't think P, N, and C will ever jump from a cliff now!  After the kids were finished swimming, they got dressed and went to Hat Creek Burger which is right next door, for a burger and for the kids to play on the outdoor playground.  Tuesday they went roller skating.  It was the perfect activity to do on a HOT day!  Nay Nay was so sweet to say that Pearce taught him how to skate, but it was actually Nay Nay who encouraged Pearce, Carrie told me.  Wednesday, they went swimming again and pretty much spent the whole day at the pool.  Charlotte is a bit of a picky eater....like won't even eat a peanut butter sandwich.  So I told Auntie Carrie that she loves Taco Bell....a soft taco with meat, cheese, and sour cream only :)  So, Taco Bell was their dinner that night and little Charlotte ate her taco :)  Thursday was their birthday celebration day for Nathan.  Carrie took them to Catch Air to play and they LOVED this place!  What's so funny that apparently there was a little boy there that was being rough and threw a big ball at Pearce which hit him in the head and Pearce started crying.  Nathan ran to Pearce and checked on him and then told Carrie that he was going to go find that boy and tell him he hurt his cousin and that he needed to be careful.  A little while later, Nathan came and told Carrie that he found him and talked to him....and might have "accidentally" thrown a ball at him :)  The other funny thing is that there's a big tall metal slide there where you have to climb up the side to get to it and then climb over the platform to go down the slide.  Pearce did it once before and that was it.  He was always too scared to do it again.  Well, leave it to Nay Nay and Charlotte to convince him to try it again, help him get up it, and then that's all he wanted to do!  After a couple times, Pearce didn't even need any help!  So, after Catch Air, they went to Toys R Us for Nathan to pick out his birthday present.  I told him he had $20 to spend.  Nathan finally decided on a toy and then Pearce and Charlotte got to pick out a little something, too.  Pearce got a superhero guy and Charlotte got fake glasses :)  Then they had to get Nathan's birthday treat.  He wanted to bake cookies, so when they got home, they baked cookies and then sang Happy Birthday to him and  they got to pig out on the cookies!  All 3 kids really had such a fun week together.  On Friday, they got to swim one more time at the neighborhood pool and then left to meet me in Waco.  Poor little Pearce, though.  I felt so bad for him because as soon as he saw me, he knew it was time for Nay Nay and Charlotte to go home and he immediately started getting teary eyed.  Carrie said he cried inconsolably for a lot of the way back home.  Poor little guy!  He sure does love his cousins!  Thank you Auntie Carrie for taking such good care of Nathan and Charlotte!!!!  Here are the pics she sent me...

Mani and Pedi for little Miss Charlotte :)

Pie Face game!

Carrie had to make a quick stop in Sephora....Charlotte was in makeup heaven!  Carrie told her she could choose one lipstick to sample....she chose the brightest one!  The boys wanted to put something on, so Carrie said the boys could get a spray of cologne to smell like a man....they loved that, LOL!!

Sad, little boy on the way home :(

Sad little Sissy :(
