Nathan's First Soccer Game

Nathan is now on a real soccer team, Team Lightning, and he is having so much fun. He has practice every Tuesday evening and games every Saturday. He even has his own uniform and looks so cute in it! His first game was so funny because even though the kids have been practicing, playing a real game is totally different. There are a few kids on Nathan's team who really know what to do (Jonathan is one), but most of them just run after the ball and try to kick it, but not always in the right direction. One little boy on Nathan's team cries every time he's on the field. It's kind of sad, but also kind of funny. He's the cutest little boy (and is the coach's son!) and loves to play when it's a practice day, just not on game day :) Nathan...well...he doesn't cry, but he's not always right there trying to get the ball. There were a few times when he wasn't paying attention and the group went right past him. Or he and a few of the other boys will start playing on the field. Wayne and I thought it was so funny! But as I'm writing this, we've already had our second game, and there was a huge improvement, so it just takes some time to get used to the game.

Charlotte is Nathan's biggest fan! She is so good during practice and the games. She just sits right with us and plays on the grass...such a good girl.

Nathan is #8, and these next few pictures are of him and his team warming up.

It's game time! Not all of the kids play at the same time. Whoever isn't playing, goes into the tent that the coaches set up to rest and drink water. Whenever Nathan is in the tent, he and his friends are having so much fun talking, playing, and even pouring water on each other. Sometimes, I think Nathan has more fun there than on the field!

Jonathan has the ball here, and he ended up making so many goals for team Lightning...he is a natural!

Nathan's team won (although they don't really keep score, but the parents do!) The score was 11 - 0, and he was wiped out when we got home. Here he is in our bed watching a show with Daddy...he fell asleep with his head in his hands.

We are so proud of you Nathan!

Playing Outside

Now that Charlotte is bigger and the weather is nicer, Nathan and Charlotte want to spend every minute they can outside. Charlotte absolutely loves the red car and will spend 30 minutes getting in and out, honking the horn, and "driving" it. Then the two of them run around in the yard. Nathan tells Charlotte to chase him, and she does it! They will even play ball together. I can tell that Nathan is having so much fun with Charlotte because she really interacts with him, and LOVES to copy everything he does. In fact, the other day Charlotte was pushing her babies in her baby stroller and Nathan was pulling his backpack (it has wheels) behind him. Charlotte watched him for a little while and then turned her stroller around and started pulling it behind her and following her brother. It was so cute, and I can tell that Nathan has so much fun now telling her what to do and watching her copy him!

And just like Nathan, Charlotte is a fan of Capri Suns. When they go over to Grandmother's house, whenever Nathan gets one out, he gets one for Charlotte too!

Charlotte Giving Kisses!

Charlotte used to give kisses by just opening her mouth and putting it on yours, now she likes to pucker up! On this day, she went around to all of us giving us huge kisses with her lips. Nathan thought it was so funny!

Happy Birthday Heath and Caroline

My friend, April, who is also Nathan's swim teacher invited us to her son and daughter's birthday party a few weeks ago (ok a month ago, but I just got the pictures). Caroline turned 1 and Heath turned 3. I didn't bring my camera, but the photographer there took these cute pictures of Nathan and Charlotte, and I just love them! We played at the park first and then went to April's house for breakfast and cake. Nathan quickly made friends with Heath and Caroline's grandmothers and was quite the show off. While I was downstairs with Charlotte feeding her breakfast, Nathan was upstairs hiding in the toy box, and the photographer got a picture of it! Both grandmas told me they thought Nathan was so sweet and funny. He played so well with all of the kids (even though he didn't know them), he used his nice manners, was so sweet to his sister, and was Mr. Talkative. I was so proud of him.

I love the picture of Charlotte by herself. She's not smiling, but I think she looks so pretty.

It's a Boy!

Two weekends ago, we found out that Carrie and Chris are having a boy! Mom, Charlotte, and I went to Austin to visit and do some shopping for the baby. They had their sonogram Friday morning as we were driving, and she didn't tell us what the baby was until we got there! The suspense was killing us! But now we know, and we are so happy for them!  On Friday afternoon, we went to several stores to buy some cute baby boy things and then we relaxed at home and talked about how she was going to decorate the nursery.

On Saturday, we got a ton of shopping in! We went to Hobby Lobby first where Mom bought us some cute fall decorations and then we had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. Carrie got Charlotte dressed and even fixed her hair...

I love her little curls!

Here we are at lunch.

And Charlotte slept through the whole thing!

After Hobby Lobby and lunch, we went to Gymboree and Janie and Jack where Carrie got so many cute things for the baby. Plus we went glider shopping and she found the perfect one! We were so happy because we were so productive that day! So we decided to reward ourselves with a pedicure! I was a little nervous about having Charlotte with us, but she just sat on Mama's lap the whole time. I don't know how relaxed mom was, but I was in Heaven!

Carrie and I both got flowers. I've never had one painted on before, but I love it!

Charlotte loves her baby dolls! I brought several of hers for her to play with, but Auntie Carrie happened to have this one that she used for her "White Trash" party with her friends :) The doll is as big as Charlotte and she LOVED it!

Here are a few of the outfits Carrie got and a frame. The picture in the frame is of the baby looking straight at you.

And these are the Halloween pajamas Carrie got for Charlotte. She got some for Nathan too that are black with bones and an orange tie around the neck...so cute! Mom was trying to show Charlotte how to be "scary"

And here is Otis. The past few times that Charlotte has been around Otis and Daisy, she's been a little scared of them, but during this trip, she really warmed up to them! What's not to love?

We had such a good weekend! Now I can't wait to hold our sweet baby boy!
