Swimming with Kelly

Yesterday Marla and Kelly invited us over to swim in Kelly's new pool. It even has a slide! Marla and I didn't think far enough ahead to fill the pool earlier in the day and then let it sit in the sun to warm up so the water was a bit chilly. Kelly didn't mind, but I guess Nathan is a bit picky about when it comes to water temperature :)

This is one of the only pictures I got of Nathan actually in the water, and as you can see, he's trying to get out.

Nathan had fun watching Kelly play with her bucket and go down the slide. We kept waiting for Kelly to pour the water on Nathan!

We thought Kelly could coax Nathan back in, but he was perfectly happy watching from the sidelines.

No photo shoot is complete without a tongue picture :)

After using so much energy WATCHING Kelly swim, we had to have a popsicle, which Nathan devoured!

"Mmmmmm, that was the best treat ever!"

The Byron Nelson Tournament

We spent Sunday at the Byron Nelson Tournament with our neighbors, Dan and Haewon and their baby Reece. It rained Sunday morning but turned out to be a perfect day. Nathan loved watching the golfers and despite only taking a short nap on the way there, he was in a great mood!

Nathan and Daddy

Nathan was a little more interested in playing with the rope than watching the golfers tee off.

Reece is 5 months old. He and Nathan had so much fun together and were on their best behavior...well Recce was...Nathan caused a bit of trouble...

For all of you golfers, this is Sergio Garcia walking by.

Nathan stayed occupied with a snack of puffs and his sippy cup. I'm trying to teach him to just eat ONE puff at a time, but he's taken on the habit of his daddy. Handfuls are more fun! Now I'm not going to be able to take either one of them to the movies because they'll both steal my popcorn!

We definitely got our exercise walking the course so I didn't feel so bad about pigging out.

As most of you know, our house is for sale. Well, we found the house we're moving to! What do you think?

Doesn't this look like a mischievous face??? When we were at the 15th hole, we were watching Adam Scott putt. At this point, he was tied for the lead. It was very quiet, but just as he was putting, Nathan decided that he did not want to be in his stroller for one more second and started yelling, "dadada!" I quickly picked him up and tried to shove a bottle in his mouth...which of course I couldn't find right away. I was so embarrassed...especially because Adam missed the putt!

We really had such a wonderful time. It was great being outside, eating, walking, and spending the day together with each other and our friends.

Oh and luckily Nathan's little outburst didn't affect Adam too much. He went on to make a 48 foot putt on the third playoff hole to win the tournament!

Help Wanted!

Wayne had to work late last night so Nathan and I decided to bring him dinner and keep him company. Although our intentions were good, I think we might have added a little more stress to Wayne's day. I figured Nathan would be perfectly happy on a blanket on the floor with his toys, but oh no. His boring, everyday toys just weren't good enough. He thought Daddy's office was the best playground ever and wanted to play with EVERYTHING in it!

Daddy and Nathan at his desk. Let me go ahead and warn you that Nathan's tongue is out in pretty much every picture. He always sticks it out when he's excited or thinking really hard :)

The first new toy Nathan played with was Daddy's calculator. He went crazy over this! Nathan loves our laptop at home, so this was like his own personal computer that he could bang on.

It wasn't long before he lost interest in the calculator and had his sights set on something else. "Ooooooh, what are those stacks of papers over there? I love to tear paper!"

As I was trying to get a cute picture of Nathan and Daddy, Nathan decided to pull down Wayne's files on his desk!

And then he got in trouble :)

Next, it was on to Daddy's desk where Mr. Nathan took charge.

Notice the tongue. He is really concentrating on his destruction. Nathan had so much fun bouncing in the chair, opening and closing the desk drawer, and leaving his fingerprints EVERYWHERE! Oh and right after I took this picture, Nathan pushed a bunch of papers onto the floor!

The mouse was like a gift from the toy fairy...Nathan had never seen anything so amazing!

He loved it so much that he pulled it right out of the computer so he could get a better look! Nathan and I really did have so much fun on our field trip to Daddy's office, but I'm not sure how soon we'll be invited back. Nathan wasn't the only one who got in trouble...I accidentally kicked over a stack of documents! But I say it's Wayne's fault for not being more organized :)

I know Wayne loved having us up there and being kept on his toes. He especially loved showing off his sweet little boy!

Swim Lessons

I signed Nathan up for swim lessons, and he is loving it! I thought he would since he loves taking baths, but I was a little nervous about the experience. We're taking the lessons at an athletic center that has a huge indoor pool. As soon as we walked in, Nathan got so excited! We were a little early so we sat by the water and watched all of the other kids playing. Nathan just smiled and jumped up and down like he couldn't wait to have his turn :)

We go every Monday and Wednesday for 4 weeks. The only time Nathan cries is when we leave! He's learning to float on his back, kick his feet, and he's already gone underwater several times. I really am surprised at how much he likes it. Plus, the best part is that he's so exhausted afterwards that he takes a 3 hour nap!

Pulling Up...all the time!

No, Nathan isn't crawling yet...but I know it's coming! His little legs are getting stronger and stronger though because he wants to pull up on EVERYTHING. His favorite place to practice this skill is in his crib. So now whenever he wakes up, we have to spend a good ten minutes standing up, falling down, and standing up again!

Dallas Arboretum

Today my friend Meredith and I took Nathan to the Arboretum. Nathan is now a flower expert! It was a bit cloudy so we were a little worried about it raining but it turned out to be a perfect day! We got in a long walk and then had lunch outside. Nathan was happy the whole time and made friends with anyone who would look at him! As soon as someone would smile him, Nathan always smiled back and his little head turned to follow them as they walked past. He was so cute!

If you can't tell, this is a squirrel eating berries!

A group of older women walked by while I was taking these next pictures. They were so sweet and stopped to talk to him. Boy did Nathan put on a show for them!

I am always so proud of him and love it when everyone else thinks he's as adorable as I do!

"Hmmmm, let's go take the trail to the right. I saw some really pretty flowers down there."

8 Months Old!

Nathan was 8 months old on Sunday! But since we were at the lake, I took his birthday picture yesterday. I swear, it is so hard to do this cupcake/hat picture now! Before he would just squirm in the chair and try to get the cupcake. Now he rocks the chair along with squirming and trying to get the cupcake! These birthday pictures are a workout!

It's just about time to make sure everything is baby proofed. If Nathan is even the slightest bit close to something to hold on to, he will try to pull up on it. He's actually getting really good at it and becoming more steady.

And our little boy has his two bottom teeth now. I've been trying to get a good picture of them and finally did last week. Aren't they so cute! But be careful, they're sharp!

A Trip to the Zoo

Friday was such a beautiful day! It was sunny and cool so Nathan and I took a trip to the zoo with Jennifer and Jack.

Mommy and Safari Nate

Here is a picture of the four of us in the bird sanctuary. A worker was actually going to try to get a bird to be in the picture with us but that didn't work out (that might have been a bit scary).

Nathan and Jack in their matching strollers. Nathan was a little fussy about the stroller. He was happy as long as it kept going...which made it a little difficult to stop and actually look at the animals.

Our first stop was the children's area. Nathan and Jack got to be cowboys for a minute.

I was scared to get too far away from Nathan (as you can see in the picture) so Jennifer was snapping away while I was trying to get out of the picture but still making sure he didn't fall off!

Yee Haw!

Here is Nathan looking at the goats and holding himself up! All he wants to do is stand now!

My sweet baby boy

I just had to put this picture in because this was when Nathan kept yelling "Dada!"

No trip to the zoo is complete without a photo shoot in the cut out right? Here is Jack

And Nathan

After Nathan had enough of his stroller, I strapped him into the Snuggli and snapped this picture myself. He is getting so heavy though so the Snuggli is about to be put up!

After a few hours of walking around, it was time for our lunch break.

Lunch used to be so simple! But both boys were so great during lunch. They were starving even though their moms were the ones doing all the walking!

And after lunch, we took a ride on the tram to finish the day. But guess who just couldn't hold open his eyes anymore? Nathan! He fell asleep while we waited to get on and slept the whole ride!

Jack was as perky as can be and loved the ride.

Just like me, Nathan can sleep anywhere! I even tried to wake him up by holding him up but he just kept snoozing :) We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back!
