Halloween 2017

This year, Charlotte knew exactly what she wanted to be...an angel! How fitting!!! Nathan struggled a little with his costume choice. He's at the age where he kind of cares what his friends think. He still loves super heroes and playing with his action figures, but he doesn't necessarily want everyone to know that. He's still our sweet little Nay Nay!!! He really wanted to be Spiderman, but he was that last year. And he still likes to dress up in his old costume, but he was afraid if he chose to be a "character" his friends might make fun of him for being too babyish. Some of his friends last year dressed up scary and gory, and I never really liked that. But I told him if he wanted to be something scary, he could. We went to the Halloween store to look at everything, and the scary stuff creeped him out. Like I said, he's still my sweet Nay Nay who is scared of the dark :) So he decided to go with something completely silly...a horse head! But he didn't want to dress up like a horse. He wanted to wear his football uniform! Was there any hidden meaning or reasoning to it? No, he was just a football player wearing a horse head. Okey dokey! So we met at Nathan's friend Jaxon's house who lives in the neighborhood. His friends Aiden and Drew came too and we all trick or treated together. Jaxon has a little sister named Alessandra who is 2 and obsessed with Charlotte. So the two of them were buddies.

Cattle Barron's Ball

One of Wayne's clients invited us to the Cattle Barron's Ball. It is a huge fundraiser event for The American Cancer Society. It was at Gilley's in Dallas so it was a fancy "country" theme. I had to do some serious shopping and get new boots! Wayne and I had so much fun!!! Since neither one of us had ever been and we really didn't know anyone, we could just do what we wanted. The food was AMAZING! There was a huge buffet area plus lots of little hor'derves  being walked around. And of course there were open bars all over the place! I'm sure they are thinking as long as you are fed and drunk, you will donate more money!!! Along with the great food, we listened to two great country singers; Pat Greene and Brooks and Dunn. The kids spent the night with grandmother so we stayed out way too late! We didn't get home until 3 am! But we did sleep in the next morning. Oh and my exciting moment was seeing one of the Real Housewives from Dallas! I actually saw two but just got my picture taken with one.

Texas State Fair

After one of Nathan's football games, we headed straight to the Texas State Fair! It was the Texas OU game so we were worried it could be completely crowded and crazy, but it was fine! We were only planning on staying a few hours, but we were there from 2:30 - 9:00! Nathan and Charlotte had so much fun playing the games, eating tons of food, riding a few rides and going through all of the fun houses, seeing the animals, going to the car show, shopping in the marketplace, and just walking around! And the weather was so nice!!!
