Our Day with Mama

After Mom and Dad got back from their trip, Mom met us at Gymboree. He wanted her to meet all of his friends and show her around.

The three musketeers: Thorne, Lauren, and Nathan

Nathan climbs up these stairs so fast! I get my workout from chasing after him!

"Mama's here!" As soon as Mom walked in, Nathan ran right to her and gave her the biggest hug!

This is called "Pushing the Log." They roll the inflatable log from one end of the room to the other. Nathan wasn't a fan of this activity at first, but now he loves it. He will sometimes hold onto it and roll onto the top.

It's bubble time!

This is a new activity too. All of the kids sit in the middle of the parachute while we walk in a circle. This was the first time no one cried.

Nathan pretty much wanted nothing to do with me while Mama was there :)

"Mama, you want to take me to the slide for the 4th time?"

After Gymboree, we went to lunch at The Original Pancake House. Since mom was with us, I got to eat my pancakes in peace and watch her take care of Nathan. It was great! Nathan ate his baby pancakes and even colored on the coloring sheet. He also made friends with the customers around him. He smiled and waved his backward wave (he waves to himself) to everyone that walked by. Then we went to Grandma's apartment for a visit. What a great day!

Outside Fun

We finally made it to our neighborhood park. Nathan and I took a long walk around the neighborhood and then stopped at the park. He had so much fun swinging, climbing up the the slide, and playing in the dirt :)

"Higher Mommy!"

"This dirt sure does stick to your hands."

"Hurry, let's go to the slide before someone else gets on it!"

"I'm ok"

"I hear a dog! Cookie, is that you?"

Dinner with the Relles

Last weekend, we had Jennifer, Nick, and Jack over for dinner. We haven't seen them in so long so it was fun to be able to catch up and let Jack and Nathan have some play time together.

While Nick and Wayne went to pick up our dinner, Jenn and I made Mac and Cheese for Nathan and Jack. I forgot how good REAL mac and cheese is. As I was feeding Nathan, I snuck in a few bites myself. Then I ate the rest of it the next day for lunch!

Nathan brought out his favorite new toy to show Jack, Cookie's leash. Jack was cute. He led Nathan around while Nathan held onto it!

After dinner, the boys had a few minutes more of play time. When it was time to clean up, Jack new just what to do. He's just like his mom and wants everything in the right place. Nathan, on the other hand, kept taking out what Jack and Jennifer put up! I guess he takes after me :)

Although this picture doesn't really look like it, Jack and Nathan loved to give each other hugs. Jack is really good at it! Whenever he would hug Nathan, Nathan would pat him on the back. It was so sweet!!!

Wiggly Center

Our newest thing is going to a place called the Wiggly Center. It's an indoor play area that has inflatable areas, soft play stuff, climbing areas, slides, etc... Well, with all of these cool things to try, guess what was Nathan's favorite thing....

The car! He crawled in and out constantly! But after he got bored with the car, he went all over the place. One bad thing though was that Nathan would want to crawl into the tunnels or up the slides. But I couldn't let him go up there by himself so I had to crawl after him. It was kind of scary to be in tunnels way off the ground (surrounded by kids) but Nathan had so much fun and was really adventurous. It really was neat to see him want to go off and explore. So I give The Wiggly Center a thumbs up!

Playdate at Nathan's House

I have a group of friends that get together every Thursday with their babies to play and visit. Last Thursday was our turn to host, and we had the best time. All of the kids really seem to know each other, and the babies will pretty much go to any of us. We have a lot of fun together!

Snack time, and what better place to put their food than right on the floor! If you put the food on the table, it just ends up on the floor anyway...I did sweep and mop before the group came over.

"We're ready for another round."

Here is Thorne and Nathan.

The new thing that all of the kids like to do is to push each other around on one of the riding toys. Here is Nathan going for a ride with Lauren! He really had to hold on, Lauren is a strong little thing!

Our Last Night with Cookie

We had so much fun keeping Cookie at our house while mom and dad were away. I know Cookie was happy to be back with them when they got home, but Nathan really missed her. He looked all over for her the next day :(

"Are they here yet?"

Nathan loves to play in Wayne's study...and keep his daddy from working :) Here are a few pics of them watching TV together.

Then later on, it was time for bed. Nathan loves to play in his chair but does not sit still for long. Doesn't he look so big here?

This one is so sad but so funny too. I was trying to take a picture of him in front of the growth chart, but Nathan just wanted to cuddle before bed.

Our Latest Photo Shoot

A friend of mine has her own photography business so we took advantage! I wanted some pictures of Nathan outside playing instead of posed studio pics. Well, Nathan definitely had a mind of his own. He did not make Lori's job easy! He kept running away from us and poor Lori spent most of her time chasing after him. If we wanted him to sit, he wanted to stand. If we wanted him to stand, he wanted to sit. She took a ton so here a few. We'll get the rest in a few days...if there are any other cute ones :)

What a Difference a Year Makes

Well, actually 13 months. I meant to put these pictures on when Nathan turned one, but we had a lot going on. Better late than never. It is just mind boggling to me to see how much he's changed and grown. And I really can't believe how fast time flies. I know it sounds cliche, but it really makes you realize how much you need to cherish every single minute because they grow up so fast.

How lucky are we to have such a precious little boy!!!!

Playing with Cookie

My parents are living it up on an Alaskan Cruise so we are taking care of their dog, Cookie for two weeks. Cookie is the sweetest dog ever, and Nathan absolutely loves her so I'm so happy we get to enjoy her while Mom and Dad are away. On the day Nathan got his new slide, we spent the morning outside playing which made both babies very happy.

"Cookie, there's that plane I was telling you about."

"I like to roll around too, but I haven't tried it in the grass yet."

"Who wants to play a game of fetch???"

"Cookie, you're my best furry friend."

"Cookie, this is my toy. You have your tennis ball."

Although we want Mama and Papa to hurry home, Nathan is having so much fun with his little friend. We go for walks every morning and afternoon, and when Nathan wakes up from his naps, Cookie is the first to hear him and runs to the stairs waiting for me to open the gate so she can go to his room. Nathan gets so excited when I open the door and she runs in. They chase each other around the house and play with Nathan's toys. Cookie is even happy to help clean up the food that Nathan "accidentally" drops from his highchair. They are a cute pair!
