Happy Birthday to Me! I'm 40!

Lordy, Lordy, I can't believe I'm FORTY! Wayne, Charlotte, and Nathan spoiled me and made my birthday so special. First, they took me out to eat to my favorite restaurant, RA. It's a sushi at The Shops at Legacy. And no one complained about it! Wayne likes sushi ok, but doesn't prefer it. Nathan and Charlotte ate edamame and rice, and I chowed down on two different sushi rolls, a crab wonton appetizer, two raspberry martinis, and surprise birthday dessert. Then we went to Paciugo for ice cream!!! I think I gained a few pounds. Wayne also treated me to a day of shopping while he took care of Charlotte and Nathan. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday! I love these three so much!
A funny (well not so funny at the time) thing that happened was that while we were in New York, Wayne bought me an eye shadow palette from Sephora. It was $55! I always wanted it but could never bring myself to spend that much money on eye shadow. I only had it a couple of weeks when it got destroyed. I was doing laundry the morning of my birthday and noticed all of these little cardboard pieces in the washing machine. After pulling the clothes out, I found my brand new eye shadow in there! It was completely ruined. I was so upset and couldn't figure out how in the world it got in there. I immediately blamed Charlotte (yes, I feel very guilty). She is always playing in my make up, which I guess is payback because I remember doing the same thing with Mama's makeup. I think she must have accidentally dropped it in the hamper and then I washed it with all of our clothes. Anyway, it put me in the worst mood. But after my shopping trip, I came home and Charlotte was waiting for me with a present. She told Daddy she wanted him to take her to Five Below to get me some new eyeshadow. It was the sweetest thing ever!!! And then I felt even more guilty for getting mad at her! And I actually really liked the eye shadow. I was even happier though when I took the chance and took the destroyed eye shadow back to Sephora and told them what happened. I thought just maybe they would replace it for me. I actually didn't think they would, but thought I should at least try. Well, guess what??? They did! So now I have my special $5 eye shadow from Charlotte and I brand new $55 eye shadow. Ha!
Mama also had a little birthday for me and Carrie. She made our favorite chocolate cake! We had party plates and ice cream too! And our sweet babies sang happy birthday to us. Forty is not too bad.

A Week With the Cousins

Logan and Landon made their annual visit to Texas, and Nathan and Charlotte were so excited to have them here! Grandmother and I were quite the team! We planned so many fun activities for the kids. The kids ALL spent the night at Grandmother's house (which was wonderful for me!!!) and then I picked everyone up in the morning. We did a fun activity, ate lunch, and then went back to my house to swim in the afternoon. Then I took everyone home and enjoyed a nice quiet house for the night while Grandmother had all the crazy kids! She and Charlotte were buddies though. Grandmother set up a cot in her room with all of Charlotte's things. Charlotte kept her area nice and tidy while the boys' had everything spread out, so funny! I thought Charlotte might get a little homesick and want to spend the night with me, but she loved being there and never once asked to stay here! She was good company for Grandmother. She even lost a tooth that week! We went to Obstacle Warrior Kids which is an obstacle course like the one on TV called American Ninja Warriors. We also toured the Star which is the new practice facility in Frisco for the Dallas Cowboys. This was so cool!!! Everyone loved it, and the boys were in HEAVEN here! The best part of this day was eating at The Omni's new restaurant! Grandmother and I both love good food, and this did not disappoint!!! In fact, all of the kids were so hungry after the tour that they ate everything on their plates! Another day, we went downtown to the Reunion Tower, AKA "The Big Ball" as the boys called it. Everyone thought the observatory was cool, and the cafe was a big hit since it rotated as we ate. The other big highlight was stopping by the Dude Perfect Headquarters. These guys are best friends who started out on You Tube. They do all sorts of cool trick shots, and I swear every boy knows who they are! And they are here in Frisco! We've gone by their office lots of times but have never seen them. On this day, we figured it would be the same thing, but at least we could get a picture outside. Well, the boys all said a prayer in the car that they could meet one of the guys, and guess what? THEY DID! As we were taking pictures, they could hear lots of people inside. They were listening at the door and then all of a sudden, this tall guy walks out. I had no idea who it was, but they started freaking out! It was Cody from the group. He was so nice to them and talked to them for several minutes and then took pictures with them. I can't tell you how excited they were!!!! I was so happy that the Dude Perfect guy was just as nice as the boys thought he was. We also went to Urban Air and Studio Movie Grill to see The Emoji Movie. On Saturday, Stuart and Tiffany and Lexa and Layton came. We went to Dave and Busters, and Grandmother added two more kids to her house! It was such a fun week! It was tiring but was so worth it because our kids have so much fun together! Oh and I forgot to mention that Logan is such a good Chess player! Wayne loves Chess so they played a few games. Logan beat Wayne once and then Wayne beat Logan :) Grandmother taught Charlotte to play a few weeks earlier so Logan even played with her! Can't wait for next year!!! Thank you Grandmother for treating us to so many wonderful things. We love you so much!
