3 Month Pictures

Last week, Nathan and I went to get his 3 month pictures taken. Wayne and I discussed that we weren't going to spend a ton of money on these pictures. All I really wanted was just a couple of good poses to celebrate his 3 month birthday. I had every intention of not getting suckered into buying every single picture and to sticking to our pre-determined budget. But...I caved in after seeing them! They were all so cute and there were so many to choose from! I took so long in deciding which I ones I wanted that I had to go back a second time! Boy did they love having me as a customer! I figured once Wayne saw how cute they were he would forgive me for going overboard...he's still working on it :) Here's a sampling of his pictures.

I see somebody's tummy!

Here's our big boy acting all grown up!

I love his smile!

And I loved these next pictures because he looks so "baby" in them.

Those were worth the money right?! Wait till you see the Christmas ones I bought too!!! Sorry Wayne :)

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving at Mama and Papa's house. Wayne, Carrie, Chris, and their baby Otis the bulldog got there Wednesday night. We spent the rest of the week eating, eating, eating!! Carrie and I squeezed in a couple of movies, and the guys watched football.

"Is it time to eat yet?"

Daddy's here!
"Ummm.....if Mommy and Daddy think they're cuter than me, they are CRAZY!"

Carrie loved being the "second mommy" to Nate. Hopefully she and Chris are getting the itch!

We had good intentions of taking a "Generations" pic, but looks like we forgot the most important little person...OOPS! Sorry little Nater-tot!

Thanksgiving dinner was WONDERFUL! I'm drooling just looking at this pic. O.k. now back to my diet....until Christmas!

Can anyone find Cookie? She was hoping for a Thanksgiving treat too!

"Mama, you are so comfy."

"Why do you guys keep taking pictures????"

There's a smile! Nathan loves Grandma!

Carrie, Nate, and Chris. Nathan loves being walked around in his Snuggli. "Do I have to go to bed right now?"

Otis and Cookie decided to take over the couch for some much needed rest :)

A Week of Relaxation

Nathan and I went back to the lake with my parents the Sunday before Thanksgiving. We stayed the week while we waited for everyone to join us for Thanksgiving. My parents' lake house is such a relaxing and calming place...plus all they wanted to do was help out with Nathan. It was wonderful to see them bond, and wonderful for me to take naps!!!

Mama and Nathan on the screen porch looking at the birdies. "Mama, it's just a birdie...haven't YOU seen a birdie before? Now where's my milk?"

Mom, Nathan, and Grandma. This was the first time my grandmother had seen Nate. Of course, she thought he was absolutely precious! And Nathan just adored her the minute he saw her. He just kept smiling at Grandma!

One of our favorite things to do is to lay Nate down and watch him kick his legs. "Hey Mama and Grandma, can your legs do this?"

Monday evening, my sister, Jennifer and her family came to the lake. Alexandra and Robert went straight for the baby when they got there! They were both so sweet with him and loved taking care of him.

Here is Alexandra putting on Nathan's pajamas and getting him ready for bed.

Bad hair day!

Later that night, Daddy made us a fire in the fire pit, and we roasted hot dogs for dinner.

"I wanna roast a hot dog too."

While at the lake, we celebrated Mom and Alexandra's birthdays.

This is the sweater set that Jen knitted for Nathan. She made him a sweater, bonnet, mittens, booties, and a blanket! Isn't it so sweet?! I couldn't believe she made it all. He was so warm and cozy in it.

Rotation of the Grandparents!

Nathan, Wayne, and I got spoiled again. Wayne's mom came to visit for a week, and I pretty much had the week off! Helen insisted that I take time to pamper myself (shop, lunch, relaxing, more shopping, etc...) while she took care of Nathan. How could I refuse an offer like that?! I definitely took advantage of having her here!

"Grandmother is so pretty!"

Here's one of my shopping trip purchases. I went to Gymboree for the first time to actually buy Nate an outfit. Up until this point, he's had plenty of clothes, but now he's growing out of his summer clothes and needs fall outfits. I had the good intentions of only buying a few things. But there was a great sale so I went a tad bit overboard! This is just one of the MANY new things I got :)

"Hey, my fingers look mighty tastey." Mama and Auntie Carrie love giving Nate his bath!

After Helen left, my parents came up for the weekend. We spent the weekend together with Auntie Carrie, and then Nathan and I went back to the lake house with them to continue yet another week of relaxation and being spoiled.

Here's Daddy and Nate going for a stroll around the neighborhood.

And here's Papa giving Nate his bottle. Notice the little hand wrapped around Papa's finger. Nathan is already learning how to butter him up!

3 Months Old!

I can't believe that Nathan is 3 months old! His birthday was yesterday. I was going to just buy a single cupcake for the event so that I didn't eat the whole box but...that just didn't work out. I'm going to try to be good though and just eat one a day :) Nathan's little personality just keeps getting cuter and cuter. He is such a happy and playful baby!

"Let's make this fast Mommy!"

"I'm 3 months old, and I like my new outfit!"

"I'd rather suck on my fist than this cupcake."

"I'm sorry I almost kicked the cupcake over on your white glider...at least it's white icing!"

Nathan Laughing

I've got to set this up first before you watch the video. Nathan has been smiling and cooing for a while now but hasn't really laughed outloud. We've used all sorts of fancy toys and music to try to get his laugh out. Really we act like complete idiots trying to impress him. Yesterday I was getting ready to go on a walk with my neighbor so I put Nathan in the pack and play while I changed my clothes. He hasn't spent any time in his pack and play yet so I wasn't sure he'd like it. After I laid him down, I gave the bear mobile (which isn't battery operated) a quick spin. Then it happened! He started laughing everytime I spun the bears. And the bears aren't anything special, but hesure loved them! Ok, now watch the video :)

Video of Nathan

I have the cutest video of Nathan waking up in the morning. But it's after all of the Halloween Party pictures and before the Pumpkin Patch pictures (I'd try to move it to the top, but I'm afraid I'll mess it up). Just scroll down, the post is called "Good Morning Nate"

Or you can click on the October arrow of the Blog Archive. It's on the right under my introduction. Then just click on "Good Morning Nate"

A Trip to the Zoo

Nathan had his first trip to the zoo yesterday. We went to the Ft. Worth Zoo with Marla and Kelly, Julie and Ella, and Angela and Brock. The weather was perfect! It was a little chilly, but the kids loved it!

Kelly, Ella, and Brock hanging out.

Nathan got in a little cat nap before perking up to see all of the animals.

"I woke up Mommy!"

I love this carrier! We started out walking around the zoo in the stroller, but Nathan wanted to see more so I put him in his Snuggli. He was so alert in the beginning but then of course, by the time I decided to get our picture taken, he had fallen asleep. He is definitely my child...he loves his sleep!

A trip to the zoo isn't complete without a ride on the Merry Go Round. I held Nathan while we went around. He loved it! When the horse went up and down, Nathan's eyes go so big! He just smiled and smiled the whole time. I, on the other hand, got a little dizzy holding on to him and going around and around!

After the Merry Go Round, we took a ride on the train. We had already walked all around the zoo so we decided to be lazy and take the train back to the entrance. I definitely got my exercise that day!

Here's a group shot on the train.

Time to go home! The zoo was a success! We had the best time, and we wore the kids out. I was in desperate need of a nap when we got home, but Nate had already taken his naps. He was ready to play...ALL AFTERNOON LONG!
