Daddy's New Office

Wayne has moved to a new office building. He's been dreading this because it's a lot further from where he used to be. Now it takes him about 45 minutes to get to work WITHOUT traffic...and there's almost always traffic. But this new office is amazing! They started out with a floor that was completely unfinished, no walls, no offices, just concrete. And his construction team designed the layout, decorated, and furnished it. This is what they do for their clients so it was nice for them to do it here and then be able to show clients what they can do for them.

The building itself had lots of neat areas outside: tons of outdoor seating, a huge fountain, putting green, and several restaurants. The inside is modern but comfortable. There are lots of windows, and it is just completely updated. Nathan and charlotte loved exploring. And they loved the conference rooms that had white boards on the whole wall! Actually, they just had walls painted super glossy so that they functioned as a white board.
The part I loved was the break room! It was so nice! Tons of windows, a nice kitchen area, lots of tables and chairs. So different from the old building. I thought that even though the new building is further away, it has so many more amenities that I'm sure most of the employees are happy. Of course, Wayne says he's always so busy that he can't really enjoy all of that but he's glad everyone else is happy.

Donuts with Dad

Last week was donuts with dad at Charlotte's school. Charlotte was beyond excited to have Daddy not only eat with her in her classroom, but to also have him take her to school! It was nice for me too! Wayne did have a meeting that morning and I was a little worried he may not be able to get out of it, but he just told them he would be late. His baby girl (and a donut) was more important. Charlotte picked out her favorite dress, wanted me to fix her hair, and help her pick out a necklace. It brings tears to my eyes as I'm writing this because it was such a special day for her. Every night, Wayne asks both of them about their days at school and Charlotte just loves telling Daddy all about it. She told me that now she can actually show him everything! And when I picked her up after school, she said it was such a fun day because of Daddy.

Gymnastics

Charlotte finally has her own thing...gymnastics! She's been 3 times now. We go Saturday mornings at 10 and she loves it! Carrie got her a leotard and some little shorts (out of the same sparkly fabric) for her birthday that she adores...she doesn't want to wear anything else except one of those pieces. There are four other kids in her class who are really cute and very sweet to charlotte. And I was pleasantly surprised that she wasn't the least bit shy or scared about trying something new with new people and new teachers. On her first day, she walked right out there and acted like she had done this before.

Pearce's 3rd Birthday

A couple weekends ago, little Pearce turned 3 years old! Carrie's baby is getting to be a big boy! Nathan and Charlotte love helping to take care of him, and they are always asking me if he is big now or if he is like he was at Christmas. It s so funny. They are so worried he is going to turn into a big kid if they don't see him in a few weeks. When Nathan and Pearce are together, Pearce is ALL ABOUT Nathan. So I ended up sending Charlotte to Austin with Mama and Papa since they were going down earlier on Friday and Charlotte didn't have school. Then Nathan and I drove down when he got out of school. This way, Charlotte was able to have some time just with Pearce by herself. And she loved being with Mama and Papa by herself too. They told me that she was such a good traveler and slept most of the way. I figured she would because she woke up really early because she was so excited.

When Nathan and I got to Austin that evening, Pearce was so happy! He and Nathan wrestled non-stop!

The next day, we went out to lunch to Phil's Ice House where the kids could play on an outdoor playgroud while we ate. We also celebrated Robert's 13th birthday! I can't believe he is a teenager now! Then we went home and let Pearce have a nap while we got everything together for his Gymboreee party that afternoon.

The theme of the party was "Superheros" so Carrie had everything decorated perfectly to fit the theme. I helped a few weeks before by helping her make mini capes for the applesauce pouches and for the blow pop party favors. I also made the cutest (if I do say so myself) capes for Pearce and Charlotte. I ran out of time on Charlotte's do Mama finished it for me. All of Pearce's friends and nathan and Charlotte had the best time.
After the party, we went back to carrie's house, had a great chicken spaghetti dinner, and opened presents.

It was so sad for Pearce when we left. He has so much fun with nathan and Charlotte. He cried and cried saying he didn't want nay nay and Charlotte to leave. Poor little guy! Seeing him so sad made Carrie sad which madee sad which made nathan and Charlotte sad! We had so much fun though and can't wait to see our little buddy again soon!!!
