School has been out for 4 weeks so far and will be out for at least another 6 weeks
Social Distancing has been in effect for almost 4 weeks
Tape on the floors at grocery stores and others to help distance shoppers (6ft) from each other.
Limited number of people inside stores, therefore, lineups outside the store doors.
Non-essential stores and businesses mandated closed.
Parks, trails, entire cities locked up.
Entire sports seasons cancelled.
Concerts, tours, festivals, entertainment events - cancelled.
Weddings, family celebrations, holiday gatherings - cancelled.
Churches are closed and have moved to online services.
No gatherings of 50 or more, then 20 or more, now 10 or more.
Don't socialize with anyone outside of your home.
Children's outdoor play parks are closed.
We are to distance from each other.
Shortage of masks, gowns, gloves for our front-line workers.
Shortage of ventilators for the critically ill.
Panic buying sets in and we have no toilet paper, no disinfecting supplies, no paper towel no laundry soap, no hand sanitizer.
Shelves are bare.
Manufacturers, distilleries and other businesses switch their lines to help make visors, masks, hand sanitizer and PPE.
Government closes the border to all non-essential travel.
Fines are established for breaking the rules.
Stadiums and recreation facilities open up for the overflow of Covid-19 patients
Press conferences daily from the President. Daily updates on new cases, recoveries, and deaths.
Government incentives to stay home.
Barely anyone on the roads.
People wearing masks and gloves outside.
Essential service workers are terrified to go to work.
Medical field workers are afraid to go home to their families.
Hospitals being overrun by sick patients, running out of beds and spaces
Temporary hospitals, medical tents being set up
Mass graves being dug for deceased, no funerals because of the sheer amount of bodies
This is the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic, declared March 11th, 2020.
Life is precious and should not to take the things we dearly love for granted. Although times have been hard, our family has made the most of it. Some positives are that we have had such a huge amount of family time together. We will most likely never have this type of 1 on 1 time together again. With Nathan getting older, I have just loved having the four of us together without any other distractions. There are many people who are having an extremely hard time with being out of work, financial difficulties, trying to keep young children occupied, feeling isolated and depressed, but we have not experienced these things. We love to be together! And Nathan and Charlotte have really bonded. They have always gotten along, but now they play with and depend on each other more than ever before. Although there have been so many deaths and sickness around the world, I am actually grateful for this time with my family.
Here are pictures of what we done to keep ourselves occupied so far. The first picture is of our last day of school before Spring Break. Mama and Aunt Jen ate lunch with Charlotte and took her to the book fair.
