Back to school during a pandemic! What a crazy beginning of the year! We started late with a 3 week teacher work week which was nice then we went to virtual for the first 2 weeks then in-person for whoever chose it. I normally teacher Spanish Immersion but there were not enough kids to split between Berenice and I so was given an English only class. Each nine weeks, parents had the option to choose virtual or in-person. I planned to go back to Spanish Immersion, but got so attached to my class that I stayed with them and just taught English only. It was a crazy start. We had desk shields, strict social distancing rules, and had to wear masks the whole time. the kids really adapted well. They were just happy to be in school no matter the rules. We celebrated the start of school with dinner out a few times, Starbucks and a pup cup for Rusty, and Mama made Charlotte a turtle Ipad cover!

Hair and Nails
Charlotte is my girly girl! She loves to fix herself up, wear pretty clothes, put on a little makeup, fix her hair, and paint her nails. Her hair had gotten so long so it was time for a haircut before school. She got about 5 inches cut off, but it was still so long! It looked beautiful though!

Little Chefs
Grandmother has been focusing on her baking and cooking during the pandemic and has been encouraging the kids to cook more. She made us the most delicious bread which Charlotte then turned into french toast. When Nathan saw Charlotte cooking, he said he can do the same thing! He and Charlotte worked together to make burgers and fries. Nathan patted out the burgers and grilled them too with Wayne's supervision. They also love making Grandmother's cream cheese pastries!

Happy 13th Birthday Nathan
Happy birthday to our big boy who is now a teenager! We celebrated a little early since his actual birthday, August 13th, will be when school starts. He has grown so much and is finally taller than me which he is so proud of! Pearce, Uncle Chris, Aunt Carrie, Aunt Jen and Robert, also came down to celebrate. We had a big fish fry and dinner by the pool. Nathan was so excited to get a new gaming chair for the upstairs room. He also got a huge Lego set. My boy still loves his LEGOS!!! On his actual birthday, Courtney Jones (Addy's mom) brought him some mini bundt cakes...so thoughtful! We also celebrated Rusty's birthday. Charlotte and Nathan made him dog friendly cupcakes. He is such a good boy!!!
