Girls Trip to Waco

During part of Spring Break, me and three of the teachers I work with (Jennifer Holland, Ashlan Smith, and Nellie Soto) took a road trip to Waco to see the Magnolia store. We left that morning and spent the whole day! We didn't get back until 8:00 p.m! We had so much fun! Now that I'm working, I've made lots of friends at the school and really like all of them. Nellie is my teaching partner so we are together all the time. I'm so lucky that we get along so well. When we got there, the line to the store was so long but it didn't take us long to wait. Then we went to the famous bakery. They are known for their cupcakes here. This line was long too and it did take a long time, but the cupcakes were worth it! After that, we went to another indoor shopping area called Spice something or other. We ate dinner and then drove home. My stomach and face hurt from laughing so much. I really love these girls!

Charlotte's Field Trip

Last week, I took the day off and went on Charlotte's field trip with her. I loved being able to spend the day with her and see her with all of her friends. It made me so happy to see how much all of the kids like her and how happy she was with all of them. We went to a park to play and have a picnic and then to see a play at the Dallas Children's Theater. Charlotte, Zinia, and Kendall were in my group. Adalynn's mom went also and had her own group, but because Charlotte and Adalynn are pretty much inseparable, our two groups ended up being one big group :) And Adalynn sat with us on the way back. We had a great time.

Soccer

Nathan and his friend, Drew, have joined a new soccer team. Nathan started playing soccer when he was 5 and stayed with that team several years. Then the group split up and we joined a different team with some of the previous players. Nathan always liked soccer but once he started playing flag football, he kind of lost interest. But he and Drew decided they wanted to play soccer and be on the same team so we signed up together and were assigned to a brand new team. It's been interesting because we don't know anyone except for drew and his family. It has been great though. Nathan was able to pick right up where he left off and is pretty much the star of the team! This is how it was with his basketball team too. His little ego is completely inflated now :) His soccer team is actually really good, but they are learning to work together. They lost their first game, tied their second game (Nathan and Drew each got their two points) and won the third game. The third game's score was 4-0, and Nathan got all four goals! It was crazy! He really likes his team, but also loves being with Drew...and being so good :) And once soccer is over, Drew's dad formed a flag football team with kids from Hicks. Nathan can't wait for that to start!!! It will be fun because it will be with all of Nathan's friends. So the kids will have fun being together and so will the parents! He'll still play with his usual flag team, but they only play in the fall. This will be great practice before the fall team starts.

Random Pictures

Charlotte and Adalynn are still best friends! They want to have playdates whenever they can and are inseparable at birthday parties! They laugh, play dress up, play with makeup, and they are always giving each other little gifts at school. They are very sweet.  The fourth picture is of Charlotte on career day at school. She was a veterinarian.  The fifth picture is of Charlotte at Skylar's Sweet and Sassy birthday party. The next picture is of Nathan and Charlotte on Picture Day at school. Next, we went shoe shopping. Mama gave Nathan and Charlotte some money for new shoes. Charlotte wanted sandals and was so easy to shop for. Nathan knew what he wanted, but took forever to finalize his decision! After we bought the shoes in a 3.5, he couldn't wait to put them on and wear them around the mall. After about an hour, he said he thought they were a little small and wanted to exchange them for the 4. So we went back to the store. Well, they didn't have a 4 but said the Foot Locker downstairs had a 4. So we returned them and headed downstairs. But nope, they actually didn't have a 4. So then Nathan wanted to try on different tennis shoes, but I knew he wanted the Kyries (named after a basketball player). So I talked him into not settling and we went to another shoe store. He tried on several more shoes, but they weren't the ones he wanted. Then he said he wanted to go back and try on the 3.5 shoes he originally bought. He tried them on and said they were great. Two hours later, we went home with them. I still felt like he was kind of settling and that the 4's would be perfect. I ended up finding a pair at another mall in Lewisville. So the next day after church, I got them and brought them home. Now he is finally happy. They were perfect!!!! Geeze!!! He was invited to a Mavericks game with two friends and couldn't wait to wear them and show them off :) The last few pictures are from Grandmother. They spent the night with her and had fun at the mall where there is a big Lego display all throughout. They always go to Dave and Busters which Nathan and Charlotte love. They have become gaming experts!!!

Fun Run

Last week, our school had a Fun Run. Everyone got a t-shirt and each grade level got to run laps around the playground. They got to have popcorn and drinks. It was so much fun for all of the kids. Since I was with my class, I wasn't able to watch Nathan and Charlotte, but moms from each class took pictures for me. Charlotte's fun run was more like a fun walk. She and her best friend Adalynn held hands and walked and talked the whole time! Adalynn's mom said they were so cute.
