Happpy 14th Birthday Charlotte

Charlotte always gets so excited about her birthday parties! Of course she wanted a sleepover and she decided her theme would be groovy disco. She decided to make the upstairs room the disco room. We went to my school and made a sign and then bought all the decorations on Amazon. I am so proud of Charlotte because she totally took control and did all the decorating and setting up. The girls swam, painted surprise portraits of each other (which was hilarious because they drew names and didn't tell each other who they were paiting), they also made their own soft drinks by adding flavored syrup, and then just stayed up watching movies and laughing all night. Happy Birthday! Oh and on her actual birthday, I was gone at Robert's college graduation so Wayne took Charlotte to the mall and around town to get all of her free birthday goodies, so cute!

 

Happy Mother's Day

They always spoil me! We went to church then they surprised me with a sushi lunch...I love sushi and the kids love the revolving sushi place! Then I got Starbucks and Charlotte and I got our nails done :) Had the best time and feel so thankful for my sweet family

Total Eclipse

 This was so cool! Apparently we were right in the track of a total eclipse that wouldn't happen again for hundreds of years. I had very low expectations. It was during the school day and the Perot Museum donated glasses to all of the kids. But, kindergarten wasn't allowed to go outside to watch it. We lucked out though because the kids were in specials during the eclipse so the kinder teachers went outside to watch. It started around 1:15 and had the total eclipse at 1:45. I couldn't believe that it actually got so dark like night time dark! The street lights and automatic front porch lights went on. It was really neat. I couldn't wait to hear what Nathan and Charlotte thought about it because they got to watch it at their schools. When they got home, they said they weren't too impressed. What?!?  How did you not think it was cool? They said it was cool, but that all the teachers had been hyping it up weeks before so they had really high expectations lol!
