Nathan's School Music Program

Nathan had his first real music program last week. The 4 year old classes did it together and had been practicing their songs all year. I felt bad for Nathan because he came down with a cold the weekend before and was not feeling very good Tuesday night. On Sunday, he had a low fever and didn't sleep well Sunday or Monday night. I almost kept him home from school, but then he seemed to be fine during the day. The program didn't start until 7:00 pm, so he was really tired that night. He actually fell asleep in the car on the way to school. Nathan's nose was really runny, and we all know he has the bad habit of putting his finger in his nose or wiping with his sleeve. When I dropped him off in his room, I gave him a Kleenex to keep in his pocket and told him to use it to wipe his nose. I told him that EVERYONE would be watching him, so PLEASE, PLEASE don't put your finger in your nose!

I dropped Nathan off right at 6:30 and then hurried into the sanctuary to get us a good seat (Wayne was meeting us there). Charlotte and I were on the front row and could see perfectly. When all of the kids started to file in, Nathan waved to us and looked so handsome and grown up standing on the stage. As soon as they started singing, Nathan reached into his pocket, pulled out his tissue, wiped his nose, and then put it back into his pocket! I was so proud of him because he was really trying to use nice manners! You could tell he didn't feel all that great because he kept pulling out his tissue every few minutes. Poor little boy. He did such a great job though, and Charlotte loved watching him and clapping for him.

Jordan is the little girl to the left of him...he kept watching her to remember all of the hand movements :)
After the program, everyone met in the lobby for punch and cookies. Nathan and the other 3 boys in his class joined up and were so cute giving each other big group hugs! They pretty much smothered each other!

Graham, Roman, Nathan, and Blake looking like little men with their  hands in their pockets...this pose lasted all of 5 seconds and then it was back to giving bear hugs!

We then moved outside for more picture taking...even Charlotte wanted her chance to pose!

When we got home, everyone was exhausted, but Nathan had a hard time sleeping. His nose was so stuffy that he was waking up almost every hour crying. So I kept him home from school the next day and took him to the doctor. Poor little boy ended up having an ear infection! And a week later, Charlotte got pink eye!
