Galveston 2014

Let me first say that it bugs me that these pictures are out of order, BUT, if you read the previous post about me being a little stressed about being behind this summer, you'll understand why I'm not going to put in the extra time to get them in order. I'm just happy I finally got all of them uploaded! We went to Pirate's Beach in Galveston from June 11th through the 15th. Nathan and Charlotte were so excited to go to the beach and be with everyone! They especially couldn't wait to see little Pearce! Papa rented us the same house we had last year which is perfect for all of our kids. There's a huge playroom with lots of toys and bunkbeds that Nathan, Charlotte, and Pearce loved to play in when they weren't in the water. It was so fun to see the three of them digging in the sand, jumping over the waves, swimming, and catching crabs! No one got sunburned and no one complained about having sand all over them, SUCCESS!!! Papa got a big beach tent this year for us to sit under, and that was so nice and shady. We had a golf cart that we drove to the beach from our house up the street and just for fun. The kids loved that. Plus, we had TONS of food to keep everyone full. The brownies were the kids' favorite. Every time one of them walked by, a hand reached up to get one. Nathan also met a boy who was a little bit older than him, and they had so much fun catching hermit crabs during the day together. At night, we all went out on the beach with our flashlights and nets to catch sand crabs. It was definitely a joint effort, and we caught some huge ones! Even Mama chased after a few! One night, Mama and Papa stayed home with Pearce, while Wayne, Carrie, Nathan, Charlotte, and I went to the amusement park on the pier and then out to dinner. Nathan and Charlotte fell asleep in the car on the way there so Wayne stayed with them while they slept a little longer. Carrie and I went on all the scary rides before they joined us. It was fun, but we realized we are not as adventurous as we used to be! Once Nathan and Charlotte woke up, they were ready to have some fun. They rode every single kiddie ride there was...Nathan loved the bumper cars, but Charlotte was a little frustrated when she got stuck, which is why she is crying in one of the pictures. Nathan got brave and did the log ride with Daddy, and then Daddy talked me into doing some more of the scary rides! We all had fun on the ferris wheel and ended the night with a great dinner, and souvenir shopping. We also celebrated Father's Day for our two Daddies. Papa was ecstatic when he saw that we bought him an IPad (something Mom has always wanted!). We had a wonderful trip with lots of great memories and pictures. Here's to next year!!!!
