We left our house at 9:30 am, and the DFW airport at 12:30 pm, arriving in Rome at 8:30 am...the plane ride was ok, but not great. Wayne and I did not have seats next to each other, but we were hoping we could get someone to switch with us. I had a couple sitting next to me, but Wayne had a single woman next to him, YAY!!! Well, when Wayne asked her, she simply said, "Sorry, I can't do it." That was it. Wayne asked if she had someone meeting her, and she said yes, but after everyone boarded, it was obvious she was on her own. So we had to sit separately and neither one of us slept that much. I did watch 2 movies though. When we landed in Rome, it was 8:30 am. Wayne said that we really needed to try to stay awake all day so that we could get on Roman time. It was so hard!
We dropped off our bags at the hotel and then walked around the city and went into the Capitaline Museum. It was so interesting, but we were so tired! We did a light walk and sight seeing tour and then had lunch and went back to the hotel around 4...we were asleep by 5 pm! And slept until 7:30 am the next morning!

Good idea to blog while you are on vacation! I can't believe that woman would not move to let you and Wayne sit together! Sounds like the first day was wonderful!
