Easter 2014

We celebrated Easter with Carrie, Pearce, Grandmother, Mama and Papa. Poor Nathan ended up getting strep throat on Thursday. Luckily, he told me his throat was hurting the night before so I was able to take him to the doctor first thing in the morning before Pearce and Carrie got here. His throat was actually hurting earlier, but he absolutely HATES going to the doctor and having a strep test (cotton swab on his throat) so I don't think he was going to tell me at first. Then Wednesday night he said, "Mommy, can you die if you get strep and don't go to the doctor?" I got out my flashlight, looked in his throat, and instantly knew that's what it was. We had plans to go to the movies to see the new Bears documentary Friday afternoon with Pearce (his first movie) and then go to Mama and Papa's house for dinner. Wayne and I thought it would be best not to have Nathan around Pearce, but Carrie said Pearce would be devastated if he didn't see Nay Nay. At least we started the antibiotics earlier, so we just told Nathan not to kiss anyone on the mouth or eat or drink after anyone. I even got Nathan one of those doctor masks for him to wear the first day. He thought that was great! And it turns out we didn't pass it on to anyone, thank goodness!

We had a great time going to the movies, going to an Easter egg hunt at Charlotte's school, coloring eggs, having our own Easter egg hunt, and just being together. These three cousins are so cute with each other!

And they were the best looking kids on Easter Sunday! Pearce had on a bow tie, and Nathan said he looked like Indiana Jones when he's the professor, so we kept calling him Dr. Jones. Nathan wore the tie that Wayne wore when he was Nathan's age. It was Wayne's first time to wear a tie and was on Easter Sunday, just like Nathan. I couldn't believe that he had held onto it all these years!
