Angel Fire Ski Trip

I have always loved skiing! And I'm so happy that my whole family loves it too! We've been to Angel Fire, NM several times but did not go last year. We decided to go this year and Carrie, Chris, and Pearce went with us! That was Heaven for the kids! I don't think they ever get tired of each other! We went over MLK Jr. weekend which was nice for me because Friday was a half day (easy sub plans), Monday was a holiday, and then Tuesday was just a teacher work day so I could miss it and not have to worry about a sub. So we left Thursday after school and drove halfway to Amarillo. We stopped at Cadillac Ranch where all of the cars are sticking up. Nathan and Charlotte thought it was so cool. There were spray paint cans all over the place so they got to spray paint cars which was even more cool! We spent the night in Amarillo, had a nice breakfast the next morning and then headed to Angel Fire where me met Carrie and Chris at the lodge. Once the kids got together, we were off duty!!! We were able to get adjoining rooms so they just went back and forth and kept each other happy. Nathan and Charlotte did one day of ski school and Pearce did two. The first day when all of the kids were in ski school was a great day for us! Wayne, Carrie, and I skied nonstop that first day! When the kids got out of ski school, we went the bunny slope with them a few times. Then we ate dinner, they played checkers, and swam in the inside pool. It started snowing that first night and never stopped! The kids loved it!!! The next day, Pearce had ski school but Nathan and Charlotte went with us. I couldn't believe how good they were. Charlotte was cautious but could still do it just fine. Nathan just wanted to go fast so he and Wayne stayed together. And Chris did great too! It was so nice to all be together! We had a harness for Charlotte to use. She used it a little bit at first but then got to where she didn't need it. This was the day of the big Cowboys game playoff.
Wayne, Chris, and the kids went in early to watch the game while Carrie and I kept skiing. Once the lifts closed, we met them and finished watching the game. If the Cowboys won, they would go to the next set of games which would hopefully lead to the Super Bowl. Nathan is so obsessed with football and the Cowboys. He and Wayne have watched every game...really every football game there is (pro and college), but he just loves the Cowboys. And if they did get to the Super Bowl, Wayne said he'd definitely take Nathan to it. Well, it was a really close game but they lost. It was so disappointing for Nathan. I felt so bad for him. He even cried. He still loves his Cowboys though. They will be going to the Super Bowl one day!!!
On the third day, all of us skiied together! Nathan, Charlotte, and Pearce completely kept up with me, Wayne and Chris. It was so much fun to all be together and see how well the kids could ski. We will definitely make this an annual trip!
