Disney, Day 3

Nathan and the kids were up bright and early again. I was a bit tired because Nathan got into the habit of waking up earlier than usual when we're in Dallas AND once during the night each night. He slept in our room so there was no hiding from him...although we did try pulling the covers over our heads in hopes he'd go back to sleep. It didn't work.

Jake and Victoria playing with Nathan before breakfast

On the third day, we went to Hollywood studios. Mama and Papa kept Nathan at the house during the morning while Wayne, Carrie, Chris, and I went out on our own.

I know I look stupid in this picture, but this is one of Nathan waving. He waved the whole trip to anyone and anything that would look at him. I think he's really getting used to getting attention and is loving it! After Hollywood studios, we took the ferry back to the Magic Kingdom to meet up with Mama, Papa, and Nathan and do more of the baby rides.

Here we are waiting in line for a Disney 3-D movie. Nathan wasn't too excited about waiting in the lines, but he did like the movie...and chewing on the 3-D glasses.

"Hmmmmm, what shall we do next?"

Nathan thinks Papa is the best papa ever to take him to Disney!

That night, we left the kids with Mama and Papa to have a little grown up fun!

(Rob, Missy, Lisa, Max, Me, Wayne, Carrie, Chris, and Jennifer)

We headed to Pleasure Island which is in downtown Disney.

Our first stop was an Irish bar

We then went to The House of Blues and had a few drinks there, and then took the party back to the house. Needless to say, we were a little slower getting out of bed the next morning. Except for Nathan...he didn't care that his mommy needed extra sleep.

Disney, Day 4

The fourth day was spent at Animal Kingdom which was my favorite. There was so much to see and do, especially for Nate. He only fell asleep once, or maybe twice :)

This is the Everest ride that I was dying to go on. It's new and was supposed to be extremely scary!

Carrie and Alexandra waiting to go on the roller coaster. It was the best ride at the park! It was so scary and so much fun. Since we got there early, we didn't have to wait in line long so we did this one twice!

After Everest, we all went on the Roaring Rapids ride. Who do you think got soaked? Me, Wayne, and Mom! In retrospect, we should have done this one last :)

While we were walking around, we saw this man playing his instruments. We stopped to watch and Alexandra and Robert were chosen to help him play!

Nathan just smile and laughed the whole time!

And then he got to participate too!

And then Mom was chosen to help...

And even Wayne! Mom, Alexandra and Robert just had to play their instruments, but he made Wayne dance! I have a video, but I had to promise not to show it :)

When we stopped for lunch, these guys were doing an acrobatic performance and chose Alexandra to do the Limbo! Wayne and Mom were sure not to get to close for fear they'd be chosen to participate again!

We then headed over to the safari. I was so excited about this because I really thought Nathan would like it and like seeing all of the animals, but he fell asleep while Carrie was holding him. Big surprise huh?

The rest of us loved seeing all of the animals: elephants, hippos, rhino, giraffes, crocodiles, and tons more.

To end the day, Robert and Alexandra helped Wayne and I take Nathan on one more ride. It was a dinosaur ride that was pretty much like the Dumbo ride, but Nathan had just as much fun.

We spent that night getting all of our stuff packed up and organized. And then Carrie and I played "Beauty Shop" with the girls. Carrie straightened their hair with her fancy flat iron and then I french braided it.

Don't they look so sweet? They're like models! Our whole family had so much fun and we think Mama and Papa are so generous to treat us to such a wonderful vacation. The only bad thing about the trip was having to say good bye after having such a good trip. We'll just have to do it again!!!!

Oh and Nathan slept the whole way back too!

Disney World, Here We Come!

We're leaving for Disney World tomorrow! My parents are treating all of my sisters and their families to a "magical" vacation! We're a little nervous about the plane ride since this will be Nathan's first time on a plane. Say a prayer that we aren't "those people" who can't control their baby :) Hopefully Nathan will either be in a happy, playful mood, or just sleep. Either is fine with me.

Swimming with Kelly

Today, Nathan and I met Marla and Kelly to have a morning swim. It was a bit cloudy and windy, but we thought it would be perfect because we wouldn't have to worry about the sun. Well, the water was quite chilly, and Marla and I were wishing for the sun to come out! But Nathan and Kelly didn't seem to mind at all.

Nathan and his new floaty which he LOVED!

He was still just as happy in the water as he was at his swim lessons.

Kelly was so funny! She kept swimming over to Nathan to hold onto his floaty. She calls me "Ashes" and Nathan is "Tate!" How cute is that?!

And Kelly gave Nathan one of her dive sticks to keep. He did not want to let it go and even took his nap with it!

6th Grade Graduation

Yesterday morning was a big day! Nathan and I met Jennifer and Jack at MST to see our previous students graduate 6th grade! These kids were my second group to teach, but they are so special to us because we taught them in first grade and then looped up with them to 2nd grade. Needless to say, I became extremely attached to them and their families. It really was surreal to remember them as first grade babies and to now see how grown up they are! Has that much time really passed?!

Jennifer and I were a bit nervous about how the boys would do with so much going on...and because we had to wake them up early from their morning naps. But with the help of Cheerios, toys, and so much to see, they were in great moods!

Our students were all dressed up and looking so cute! Not only was it graduation day, but it was also the last day of school!

Nathan was in the best mood! He smiled and babbled to anyone who would look at him. During the ceremony, there was a lot of entertainment, and when everyone else clapped, so did Nathan! Sometimes, it was a bit delayed...he was making sure EVERYONE knew he was there. After a while he got tired of sitting on my lap so I let him get on the floor. It was so cute because he did a combination of bouncing/scooting and crawling.

Once music started playing, Jack was on the floor showing everyone his dance moves!

After graduation, we walked through the school to visit with more kids and teachers. Here we are with Morgan whom we used to teach with. We had so much fun, and it did make me miss my job and students. But I am loving my new job...MOMMY!

Mmmmmmm!

Nathan loves bread as you are about to see. He talks to it, plays with it, and eventually eats it :)
