Happy Easter!

We actually let Nathan open his Easter basket the night before. We figured we'd be really busy trying to get ready for church on Sunday morning, so the Easter Bunny visited us early. I took Nathan on a walk while Daddy got his basket set up in the backyard. I told Nathan that I thought I saw the Easter Bunny so we were on the lookout! When we got back to the house, Wayne met us at the door and said, "Nathan I just saw the Easter Bunny!" Nathan was so excited, so we ran out to the back to try to find him :)


When Nathan saw his basket with all of these toys and treats, he ran over to it with the biggest smile on his face.


His basket was filled with candy, a catch toy, a Toy Story kite, a fishing game, some new Matchbox cars, and Sarge (one of the cars from the movie "Cars") Did we go overboard?

On Sunday morning, we met my parents and Wayne's mom at church. Nathan is such a big boy now and never cries when we drop him off at Sunday School. After the service, Wayne and I picked him up and told him that Mama, Papa, and Grandmother were waiting for him. I've never see him run so fast through the halls to find them :)

Baby Charlotte is almost here!

After church, everyone came over to our house where we ate lunch (I have to brag that I fixed a really good pasta dish, salad, and bread...I even impressed myself!) And then Nathan played with all of his new toys with Mama, Papa, and Grandmother. He really loves this fishing game!

But he has already learned how to cheat! He'll hold the fishing pole above the moving fish so patiently, trying to catch one, but then he'll just pick one up with his finger, and yell "I got one!" He's always so proud of himself! We then had our FINAL Easter egg hunt (thank goodness!) and once again, Nathan filled himself up with chocolate and sugar :)

Coloring Easter Eggs with Jack

Nathan's friend, Jack, came over last weekend to color Easter Eggs. I think Jennifer and I were more excited about the boys coloring eggs than they were! What they really wanted to do was eat junk and run around!


Jack brought over some treats to share: marshmallow sticks and chocolate bunnies...yum!


"Jack, what are you eating over there?"


"When do you want to break out that bunny?"

"I don't know why our mommies think these marshmallow sticks are gross...I could eat 5 of them!"

Time to color eggs! Nathan and Jack spent about a total of 10 minutes together here at the table. The rest of the time they played chase, tag, golf, you name it, they did it! Nathan didn't quite get the concept of coloring eggs. As soon as we put the eggs into a coloring bowl, he wanted to take them right out and put them into another color. Or he tried to put two eggs in one bowl. Maybe next year, he'll be more into it :)

Jack and Nathan squeezed into the same car. They loved pushing each other around and then crashing into the fence :)

Time to hunt eggs! Nick and Wayne hid the eggs for the boys.

And the best part of all...opening the eggs. Needless to say, they didn't eat much of a lunch :) Their tummies were completely filled with nothing but sugar!

Heritage Ranch Easter Egg Hunt

The Friday before Easter, I took Nathan to Heritage Ranch where my parents live for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. It was so much fun for Mom and her friends to show off their grandchildren to each other!



It was a rainy day so the hunt had to be moved from outside to the inside clubhouse.


"I don't know about this Mama...there sure are a lot of kids!"

Nathan and Mama were in the front row ready to get some eggs! When the hunt started, a lot of the other kids got the eggs before Nathan did, but there were several other little ones who also didn't get any candy, so they cleared the floor and let those have another hunt on their own. Nathan really filled his basket the 2nd time!

My friend Meredith was also there with her mom (who lives in Heritage Ranch also). Nathan and Andrew showed off their eggs to each other.

And boy did they fill up on candy!

After the hunt, Mama took Nathan to do some Easter crafts.

And decorate Easter cookies. There were sprinkles in this bowl...some went onto Nathan's cookie, but most went into his mouth :)

And he LOVED the icing!

A Day with Mama

Last week, Wayne had to take some clients out to dinner and to a Mavericks basketball game, and my dad was out of town, so Mom and I decided to spend the whole day and evening together! Nathan and I went to Mama's house first thing in the morning, we packed a picnic, and then headed to the Arboretum. It was such a beautiful day! We loved seeing all of the flowers, and Nathan loved spending the day outside, running around.




I know I'm huge! Four weeks to go!

After eating our lunch, we walked around and found an animal petting area.




Then we found the water fountains. Nathan ran around here FOREVER!

Along with looking at the flowers, he also loves looking at the fish.

And then we found a grassy area to take a rest. Nathan alternated between laying down and playing hide and seek and chase!

After an afternoon nap, We went back to Mom's house and took Nathan and Cookie for a ride in the golf cart to play around the lake and feed the ducks. Nathan had a baggie full of bread for the ducks. Too bad the ducks only got a few pieces...Nathan ate the rest :)

We ended the day by going out to eat. It was really a perfect day! I loved being able to spend so much time with my mom and Nathan.

Easter Portrait

Pre-Easter Weekend

This last weekend was filled with pre-Easter activities. First we had our studio photo shoot, then on Friday night, Wayne and I took Nathan to the Frisco Easter Egg Hunt. We had never been before, but I thought it sounded like fun...a huge Easter egg hunt on a soccer ball field, tons of prizes and treats for the kids, plus it was divided into different age groups. So I thought Nathan would have fun practicing hunting for eggs and since he would be in the age group of "Under 2," it wouldn't be too crazy...WRONG!

I think all of Frisco showed up! When Wayne took this picture, the crowd was small!

As the time got closer to start the hunt, the crowd got bigger. When they blew the whistle, Wayne and Nathan had to fight for some eggs! After about 30 seconds, the treats were gone! Nathan got 3 pieces of candy, but to him, that was a ton :)

After the hunt, Nathan and Daddy found a big hill where Daddy taught Nathan the art of rolling down! We went out to eat and to the Toys R Us afterwards and had a really fun night together. The next day was our trip to the mall and to visit the Easter Bunny!


Last year, when we took Nathan to see the Easter Bunny, he wanted nothing to do with him. He started crying as soon as we walked up to him and didn't even sit on his lap. This year was completely different! Like visiting Santa, Nathan thought that seeing the Easter Bunny was the best thing ever!

After getting his picture taken, we took him to a place in the mall called The Indoor Safari Park. I had never been in there before, but it was so much fun! They not only had toys to look at and buy, but also little rides to go on!

And a wild dinosaur! I thought the animals they had to ride on would just rock back and forth, but they walk around the area! One of the workers helped him steer, and he had the best time!
