Merry Christmas!

After leaving Mama and Papa's house, Charlotte was out the rest of the night. Nathan fell asleep in the car but then woke up when we got home. Wayne had to go back to Mama and Papa's house with my dad and his spare key to unlock his trunk and free the keys that he accidentally locked in the trunk...I had put them in my diaper bag, and Wayne didn't know that when he was loading the car and putting everything in the trunk. OOPS! So when Wayne got home, we had to take turns making sure Nathan stayed in bed while we got everything ready for Christmas morning.
I don't know who was more excited, Nathan or us!

Santa brought them each some Angry Bird stuffed animals (that is Nathan's new favorite game!). He also brought Nathan a new bike and Charlotte a dollhouse.

Here is a list of all of their presents: Nathan got several Transformers from us and Charlotte, a Razor scooter, an Angry Bird game, and a remote control race car from us. Charlotte got a Caillou doll from Nathan (this is her favorite show), several rooms and family members for her dollhouse from us. She was especially excited about the babies and all of their gear.

Since Chris and Carrie were staying with us, it was fun for us to see Pearce open his stocking and presents too. He was so cute!

And for my Christmas present, I got a BIG surprise. This blue box was hidden in the tree and was for Mommy! Wayne got me this beautiful bracelet with Aqua Marine stones all around. He told me that he took Nathan to the Tiffany store, and Nathan helped him pick out the perfect bracelet for me. So sweet. I love it and am wearing it every day!

After our morning of opening presents, everyone came over for lunch. I must say that I fixed a really good lunch. We had hot ham and cheese sandwiches, spinach dip, potato salad, and baked beans. The sandwiches were the yummy part. I got several packages of the small Hawaiian bread sweet rolls, cut them in half, piled on Boars Head honey maple ham and monterey jack cheese. Then I made a sauce of Durkee's sandwich spread, sugar, melted butter, chopped onions, and sesame seeds (can also use poppy seeds). I poured this all over the tops of the sandwiches and then baked them for 20 minutes. Everyone loved them!!! I was worried about having enough so I actually made way too many. Papa took some home with him and then Wayne, Chris, Carrie, and I snacked on them that night and the next day.

Nathan and Charlotte loved showing Alexandra and Robert all of their new toys. Allie even helped Charlotte make a dessert of red velvet cupcakes in her Easy Bake Oven.

The best part of the day was when it started snowing. We knew there was a chance for a few flurries, but it ended up snowing and snowing and snowing non-stop! Nathan had so much fun playing in the snow and having snowball fights with Daddy. It started right after lunch and snowed well into the evening.

We had a wonderful Christmas! Papa says the ham sandwiches should be a tradition...we both just loved them. Best of all was just enjoying the confusion and excitement of the day. The snow in Texas on Christmas day was a real surprise. Ashley your bracelet on your pretty hands with your polished nails is beautiful. But the most beautiful of all is all our grandchildren..so much fun and we love them more than anything.
