Happy Birthday Nay Nay!

Our baby boy is now an 8 year old!!!! It makes me a little sad but proud at the same time. Nathan is so many things all wrapped up in one. He is funny, sweet, mischievous, charming, sarcastic, smart, energetic, a great dancer, and so much more!!! We adore and love him so much! Since we were going on a cruise 3 days after his real birthday, we had his "friend" party the weekend before and then a family celebration on his actual birthday...Thursday August 13th. Leading up to Nathan's friend party and his actual birthday, he asked us every day how many more days until each. I think we started the countdown 20 days before. He literally asked me EVERY SINGLE DAY! When the morning of his friend birthday finally got here, we decided to give him two of his presents early. Nathan LOVES Legos and especially loves the mini figures that come with the sets. He also LOVES Jurassic World which came out a couple of months earlier and anything Minecraft. So Daddy, who is Nathan's hero, got him both sets mini figures. We gave him the Minecraft set the night before his party and then the Jurassic World set the morning of his party. Its hard for Daddy to hold onto presents for very long! Nathan's reactions were priceless!

Off to Main Event for the party! We invited a smaller group this year: Barron, Drew, Jack, Noah, Cal, Nathan, Charlotte. At Main Event, we got each of the boys wristbands which let them have unlimited bowling, laser tag, putt putt, and gravity ropes. We also gave each of the boys a $10 game card to use at the arcade. Plus we ate pizza and cupcakes. It was the perfect sized group because they could all stay together easily and have more quality time together. This was one of the first times that Wayne was able to see Nathan with all of his friends at one time. I know them and their moms really well because of all the play dates we do, but Wayne just gets to hear about them. He was really impressed with Nathan's friends and could tell that they were all nice and fun boys and that they all loved Nathan! The boys got dropped off at 11 and we planned on staying until about 2, but they had so much fun that we stayed until 3! And then we took them all home. It was such a great day!

Our family party was just as much fun. Grandmother, Mama and Papa, came over for a pizza dinner, presents and cake. One thing that I love about Nathan is that he is so excited about all of his presents and lets each person know how wonderful that present was for him. He genuinely IS excited about everything he gets but he also knows to be thankful for anything, whatever it is. He loved getting birthday money from Grandmother, a Jurassic World dinosaur and money from Mama and Papa, a card and monster truck from Charlotte, and an Ant Man figure from Mommy and Daddy. With Charlotte's monster truck gift, we searched and searched for it. Nathan and Charlotte love looking at the cars in the toy section at Kroger. Nathan found this truck and has wanted it for the longest time. Sometimes I'll get them one of the little $1 hot wheels cars, but I never get them the bigger toys at Kroger. So when Charlotte said she wanted to give him the truck he wanted, I thought what an easy thing to do and he will be so happy. This truck is always there, every time we go to the store, its there for Nathan to play with and beg for. And then the one time Charlotte and I go to the store to buy it...its not there. Seriously?! So we go to a different Kroger. Not there. And then another Kroger. Not there either! Finally I found it at a 4th Kroger. GEEZE!

Happy 8th birthday to the best boy in the world!!!!!!
