Nathan is in 4th grade and is really maturing. He loves his teachers Ms. Klima and Sra. Dessommes and is really trying to take his grades and assignments more seriously. He's also getting involved in school activities like Student Council and Circle of Friends. I knew he and his friends would enjoy student council but I wasn't as sure about Circle of Friends. It's a club where the students give up one recess a week to spend time with the special needs kids. I think it's a really great thing and was so proud of Nathan when he went to an informational meeting and then decided he wanted to join. I made sure he knew he had to give up recess once A WEEK, but he said that was ok. He is also starting to like girls just a teeny tiny bit. He keeps talking about this one girl that he is sure likes him. Every day this past week, he's talked about her, but he doesn't say he likes her. He just likes that she likes him :) Then he got his haircut! I loved how he got it cut and so does he! He wants to make sure it's brushed and has gel in it every day. He's my Mr. Handsome!!!

Tumbling Class
Charlotte just started a new tumbling class and is so excited about it because she is doing it with her best friend, Adalynn. I love these pictures because Nathan and Charlotte are each with their besties; Drew and Adalynn. The four of them are so happy together which makes Mommy so happy! This was a preview class and I was a little taken aback by the instructor. I was taking pictures of Drew and Nathan so I could get her in the background. But she has a mohawk! WHAT??? But the girls loved her and said she was really nice. Plus there is a junior coach who is helping with the class too. She's young and cute with long hair so that makes up for the mohawk lady :)
Adalynn's Baby Brother!
Adalynn's mom is having a baby and decided to have a gender reveal party! It was so much fun! We had to wear the color of what we thought the baby was going to be. I wore pink and Charlotte wore blue...not really because that's what we thought the baby was going to be but because we wanted to wear those dresses :) Nathan and Daddy couldn't come because they went to the Louisiana Tech game so it was a girls night and a boys night. Charlotte had so much fun with her friends! She was supposed to spend the night and lasted until 11:00 pm there but then Adalynn's mom called me and said that Charlotte's tummy was hurting. We have been trying to eat really healthy lately and that night we both ate so much junk! It totally caught up with her! I was so worried she was going to be really sad and disappointed but she was happy to be home with me. She is my sweet little cuddle baby!!! Oh and it's a boy!
Football and Babies
Nathan has started his flag football team and is in Heaven! He loves football so much and is so good at it! They won their first 2 games. They lost the third game but they were playing against a team that had not let any teams score against them. Nathan's team (the Patriots) scored against them right away and kept scoring but the other team did win. Nathan has been playing amazing. He gets so many touchdowns, pulls tons of flags, and takes it very seriously. It's so much fun to watch him play!
Nathan has football practice Mondays and Fridays so Charlotte has fun going to practice and playing with her babies. Sometimes Charlotte invites a friend to go with us. On this day, her best friend Adalynn came to practice. They were little mommies with their babies, stroller, diaper bag, and blankets! So cute!
Labor Day Weekend
For Labor Day Weekend, we planned ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It was so nice!!! With me teaching now, all I want to do is relax on the weekend and not have a bunch of plans. Now I know how Wayne feels! The one thing Charlotte really wanted to do was learn how to ride her bike. We practiced it a lot, but she wasn't able to completely ride by herself. I had heard that if you take the pedals off, it makes it a lot easier. That they can first learn to balance and then pedal. That did work and she was able to balance for small periods of time. But it was REALLY hot so we didn't last long outside, lol! So it's a month later and her bike is still pedal-less. We need to get back to practicing!!! Nathan also had fun over the weekend. He spent Mama and Papa's Nike gift card that they got him for his birthday. He is a shoe shopaholic! The other thing Nathan did, was he and Jaxon had a lemonade stand and all of the money went to a Houston Hurricane Red Cross fund. The boys did a great job...they raised $125 and were so proud of themselves!!!

ARACHNOPHOBIA!!!!
We found this spider by our grill!!! We were outside with Rusty and walked right under it not realizing it was there! All of a sudden, Nathan saw it and started screaming. Then Charlotte screamed then me! We were pretty much knocking each other over to try to get inside. Every man for himself!!! Apparently it is just a harmless garden spider, but this thing was huge!!! We were convinced it was some rare poisonous species from South America, ha!!! I was too scared of it to even try to kill it! I put a picture on Facebook and half my friends that it was so scary and creepy like me, but half said it was a beautiful spider. My friend (Drew's mom) knew how scared we were of it and came to my house the next morning and got rid of it for us! She even took a video of her releasing it! I got all itchy just watching it!
First Day of School!
Our summer has come to an end. I was actually happy to get back to school and meet my new class. But I was sad because my Spanish partner from last year, Nellie Soto, got married and moved to a school closer to her house. We were such great friends and worked so well together. My new partner is Beatriz Robbins. She has been great, but it's hard to start over with someone new. Charlotte is in first grade with Sra. Chau and Mrs. Billingsley. Her kindergarten year wasn't that great but she is loving this year! Nathan is in 4th grade with Mrs. Klima and Sra. Dessommes. He loves his teacher but says the work is a lot harder :) We are trying to teach him to really WANT to do well and make good grades. He does want to do well, but also is more concerned with his friends, sports, and having fun.
My group of kids are the sweetest!!! I don't have any behavior problems and they are so smart! It is still hard to balance teaching and all of the work that goes into it with family, homework, extra curricular activities, and maybe a mom's night out every once in a while for me! But luckily we have Grandmother and Mama and Papa who help us so much!!!
