Vaccine

The vaccine finally came out and was available for the public. But man, what a hassle it was to get!!! In the beginning, only the medical, front line workers, and nursing home residents were able to get the vaccine. Then it was open to people 75 years and over which included mom and dad. The problem was that it was so hard to get an appointment or find a place that was offering the vaccine! The city was offering the vaccine but many of the appointments filled up so fast. I worked really hard to research for them and for grandmother. I got them on several waiting lists and then finally a parent at the school told me about a section of Parkland Hospital that was offering the vaccine. She gave me the link to pass on to mom and dad and Helen. It worked! They were finally able to get their first dose in February. Their 2nd dose was during the snowstorm so they went the 3rd week in February. Once all of the older people got a lot of the vaccinations, they opened it up to people with pre-existing conditions and teachers. Again, so hard to get an appointment! And again, a parent from school figured out a way to get appointments through Wal Mart. She signed me up. I then found one for Wayne through the Allen Fire Dept. So by the middle of March, we were all vaccinated!!!
