Our Weekend in Austin

Last weekend, Nathan and I made a trip to Austin to visit Auntie Carrie. It was so much fun for Carrie and I to spend time just the two of us, and she loved spoiling Nathan. We met her at her school so that we could meet her new class and all of her friends. Auntie Carrie couldn't wait to show Nathan off!

Nathan is already the perfect student and loves to read!

Here is Mrs. Parnell's first grade class. They were so sweet and loved playing with Nathan. Carrie tells them "Double Trouble" stories which are stories of the two of us getting into trouble. They think the stories are so funny so as soon as I got there, they wanted to hear some new double trouble stories!

"Look at all of these blocks to play with! I'm in Heaven!"

While the kids were at Music, Auntie Carrie read Nathan the story he picked out.
After spending the day with a bunch of first graders, we headed home to take a nap and then went out to dinner.

"Just one more bite of chocolate pie please."

After dinner, we went to the grocery store to stock up on snacks. Of course it was all junk food. Nathan rode in the "car basket."

On Saturday, we went to an outdoor music festival. We met two of Carrie's friends who also have babies Nathan's age. Here are Nathan and Nolan and the "Musical Petting Zoo."

The festival was located on a huge farm that had lots of little houses with activities to do. This was Nathan's favorite house. There were tons of little instruments on the front porch which was also in the shade.

Nathan and Nolan are experimenting with their musical creativity.

Actually, Nathan enjoyed trying to throw instruments off the porch rather than playing them :)

Isn't Nolan adorable?!

And this is Lyla. She was so sweet and very "girly."

After prying Nathan away from the instruments, we found a spot on the grass to sit and listen tot he music. Nathan was in the middle of dancing. He bobs up and down and then sways back and forth while clapping his hands. It's so cute!

No outing is complete without snacks.

After the festival, Nathan was exhausted and took a great nap. When he woke up, Otis was right by his side. Nate thought it was hilarious to throw things out of his Pack N Play at Otis :)

"Mommy, I'm kind of stuck."

This picture is so funny because Nathan decided he wanted to play hide and seek. He would run around the house while we chased him. I guess he thought the tiny space between the washer and dryer was the best hiding place. We had so much fun with Carrie, and Nathan was definitely spoiled! But that's what Aunts are for!

Nate, we had so much fun together. I loved being your OTHER mommy for the weekend. Otis and I were very sad when you and your mommy left. My kids want you to come back for a visit soon! Love you!
