Memorial Day 2012

We've already done a lot of swimming so far, but this was the first time I actually took pictures of my little fish. Nathan has been taking swim lessons for the last 3 months to build on what he already knows and is such a great swimmer! Charlotte loves the water too, and even when I think it's a bit too cold to be in the pool, these two don't care at all! 

Auntie Carrie got this little swimsuit for Charlotte, and she looks so cute in it! I love her sweet little tummy! 

We invited our friends Alison and Shawn Stanley and their kids, Lauren and Trevor, over on Saturday to swim, grill, visit, and let the kids play. Nathan LOVES Trevor, who is younger than him but is ALL boy, just like Nathan. Whenever the two of them get together, they wrestle, chase each other, and are so funny together. Since Nathan is the older one, Trevor copies everything he does. I mean everything! One time they were playing in a sandbox, and Nathan got some sand in his mouth which he tried to spit out. Trevor immediately puts sand in his mouth so he could spit it out too! It's so cute to see how Charlotte and Lauren play together more now too, just like Nathan and Trevor. Girls vs Boys :)

"Enough with the pictures Mommy!"

Nathan really has to be in the mood for pictures. I wanted to take a cute one of Nathan and Lauren together, but he wanted no part of it! I thought he'd sulk for just a minute and then finally give me one smile. Ummmm, no...he absolutely did not want to pose...

All he wanted to do was swim, play, and eat! Then he was happy! We had grilled chicken kabobs, baked potatoes, and chocolate cake for dessert.

Nathan had the whole table laughing at him which is always his goal. 

 While Trevor and Nathan were playing dinosaurs and Star Wars, Charlotte and Lauren played with Charlotte's babies and her toy kitchen. And while Nathan and Trevor ate their cake outside at the table, the girls enjoyed their dessert  under the swing set. 

It was a great Memorial Day weekend especially since Daddy took off work on Friday AND Tuesday! We almost had a full week together! He never does that so it was especially fun for Nathan and Charlotte to have him all to themselves for so long.
