Nathan is now on a real soccer team, Team Lightning, and he is having so much fun. He has practice every Tuesday evening and games every Saturday. He even has his own uniform and looks so cute in it! His first game was so funny because even though the kids have been practicing, playing a real game is totally different. There are a few kids on Nathan's team who really know what to do (Jonathan is one), but most of them just run after the ball and try to kick it, but not always in the right direction. One little boy on Nathan's team cries every time he's on the field. It's kind of sad, but also kind of funny. He's the cutest little boy (and is the coach's son!) and loves to play when it's a practice day, just not on game day :) Nathan...well...he doesn't cry, but he's not always right there trying to get the ball. There were a few times when he wasn't paying attention and the group went right past him. Or he and a few of the other boys will start playing on the field. Wayne and I thought it was so funny! But as I'm writing this, we've already had our second game, and there was a huge improvement, so it just takes some time to get used to the game.

Charlotte is Nathan's biggest fan! She is so good during practice and the games. She just sits right with us and plays on the grass...such a good girl.
Nathan is #8, and these next few pictures are of him and his team warming up.
It's game time! Not all of the kids play at the same time. Whoever isn't playing, goes into the tent that the coaches set up to rest and drink water. Whenever Nathan is in the tent, he and his friends are having so much fun talking, playing, and even pouring water on each other. Sometimes, I think Nathan has more fun there than on the field!
Jonathan has the ball here, and he ended up making so many goals for team Lightning...he is a natural!
Nathan's team won (although they don't really keep score, but the parents do!) The score was 11 - 0, and he was wiped out when we got home. Here he is in our bed watching a show with Daddy...he fell asleep with his head in his hands.
We are so proud of you Nathan!
